Didn’t Millar say the same thing to you?

Round 20, "loves the Club and wants to stay".
After round 27 with 6 more goals in the bag, still "loves the Club and wants to stay", but City made a better offer and he could see a better career path there.

Until they sign anything can happen.

Spoke to muzz tonight. He said he f**kin loves it here and the rumours of going back to APIA are bs. Apparently the club have offered him a contract for next season and he wants to stay.
Problem is he might be playing to home crowds the size of APIA’s after this season.

They've offered Muzz a contract. Good - happy about that.

It makes a second point. They are offering contracts at the moment. Hiariej has NOT received one.

Hence #AnnounceTommyorsackMulveynow.
Tommy wants to stay and will sign for next season IF the current management and coaching staff are no longer here. He will not sign under the current set up .
Pearce was left out for disciplinary reasons for a non football related incident at Terrigal.
Nisbet has only been offered a scholarship for next season - not the full contract he was promised by Mulvey.
Nisbet, Kekeris and Gauci were all ordered to play in the NPL pre season game v Wanderers yesterday on the premise that would possibly be starting v Wellington in two weeks and none of them had had any recent game time.

This is some seriously amateur stuff especially after making such a fuss about it in the media. For the sake of a few $ management are willing to destroy any credibility left and the main attraction developing players might have to the club. Total shitshow.

Thanks yet again pinklady
So if Kek’s and Niz have been given that promise we can wait with baited breath for another confirmation of a lie by Mulvey.

The management and football dept is rotten to the core. On field performance won't change no matter what until everyone in the club at those levels is purged. I'm done with this shit show of incompetence and contempt

Has anyone else noticed that there are no depths of exploitation the club wont sink to in order to cover up yet another disaster.
The lies (if thats what they are) about Nisbo were trumpeted all over their SM channels after he was the only bright spark after the loss to the scum.
I am super keen to see the spin/lies and outright bollocks they spout to announce that Tom is off and Nisbet got f**ked over for facebook likes.

I think that's what's pushing me over the edge. We've gone from being incompetent to downright unethical. This club treats both the players and fans with contempt. The club has lost the right to demand continued support of a single person. I'm sympathetic to the players but the club is f**ked

The club has been questionable in many areas but I don't get the above hate over Nisbet's contract.
He was only offered a professional contract for the remainder of the 2018/2019 A-League Season - not for the 2019/2020 season.

"The Central Coast Mariners are thrilled to announce that academy midfielder, Joshua Nisbet has earned an A-League promotion for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season.
...
Contracted until at least the end of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season, the faith shown by Mulvey is a reward for Nisbet’s hard work within the Mariners Academy set up since arriving from Queensland two years ago....."

He may well deserve a longer contract as many of us argue for but that's not what was announced, so how can the club now be accused of withdrawing that or reneging on it? I assume the club is simply dangling the carrot out for him to keep performing for the Academy season and whoever is there to sign players for the next A-League season can take his ongoing performance into consideration at that point in time and determine if another full time contract is warranted.

In a common sense world, if Nisbett was seen as having enough potential to upgrade for this year, he has enough potential to be in the squad next year as well. It is good PR for our development squads as well, showing that our pathways work. It should be a no brainer, as we are likely to loose all 3 of our decent DMs next season as well.

In the alternative Mariners management universe, his upgrade was pure PR to control the vitriol from fans around us not making signings in the transfer window. In addition, the upgrade on his contract likely helped us meet the minimum cap spend for the year after we lost McCormack, Cisse and Golec.

Essentially demoting him will alienate him, our other development players who want to see a pathway, and other juniors that we are potentially targeting.

It’s another clusterf@$k from our football department.

Vulvey has shown by his actions that he has no interest in developing and playing young players. We cant make the finals, the spoon is all but definite so why not start the kids?
With only a 5% win ratio since he joined us (worse than Moss, Walmsley and Okon), its not like he needs to be worried about his stats.

He was offered a contract for this season, with the possibility of an extension for next year.
Surely if there is an extension it should not be a down grade.
I suspect it was all bullshit to comply with minimum cap spend.

Mulvey flat out doesn’t trust Young Aussie players. As good or sometimes good as the Sheffield boys have been. Imagine being one of our youth boys and seeing two teenagers arrive and go straight into the side.
Heart breaking, especially for Kek’s and glassock. I like Mallon especially of the 2, but he’s not doing anything different to what Kek’s would be doing.
Mulvey even had a dig at Australian football whilst praising Graham on Friday before the match saying we don’t teach defenders how to defend.

Okay, so why don’t you teach or refine how our defenders defend right now mate? Bring in a defensive and attacking coach? You know, ex pros? Patty Z to work with the defenders and maybe Macca to work with the strikers like that wage thief Nash does with the keepers. Do you have a technique part of each days session to teach players new things or refine what they’re good at?
Like what even league 2 teams do in England.

Kevin Phillips for example is the striker specific coach at derby county. The English nation team have a striker specific coach in Allan Russell.
