Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

I have no problem with that.
Some of the drivel on here about him has been weird.
Only 4 players in contention for mine.

DDS. In front early on but not as good after the U23 joke tourni. At times the ONLY Mariners players putting in 100% some games.
Golec. Solid but not our best. Enhanced his reputation.
Baro. Good all year but culpable a few times at the back end of the season.
Tom. Best player in the team but missed alot of Football.

Is all this DDS love to get him to stay?

For the Tom didn’t play enough argument

DDS played 21 vs Tom 19 games
DDS 1,755 mins vs Tom 1,665mins. 90mins more.

DDS would be lucky to wash Tom’s jersey

Same for all the other players. However DDS scored more than Tom.

No doubt Tom is our best player but DDS was very good and i dont understand what you didn't like about him???

As i started earlier in some games he was our ONLY player giving 100%.

LOL.
Kennedy was very good after Glover showed he was not up to HAL standard yet but the last 5 or 6 weeks he was f**king Gash.
That effort against Scum was an affront to the shirt.
Having said that his good stuff earlier showed he is ok to be the reserve but we need a proper 1st keeper not another kid Pikey.

Ben Kennedy Claims 2018 #MarinersMedal
Ben Kennedy has earned top honours at the 2018 #MarinersMedal after being voted by his peers as the best Central Coast Mariners’ player during the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season. The 2018 #MarinersMedalwas proudly sponsored by Collaborative Construction Solutions.

The 31-year-old shot stopper made 23 Hyundai A-League appearances this season which was enough to automatically trigger a second season with the Mariners. The club’s newest Mariners Medalist has now confirmed his future on the Central Coast until at least the end of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season.

Danny De Silva was the other big winner of the night, picking up three awards in his first season with the club.

Kennedy capped off an impressive season by winning the club’s top gong at the Mariners’ night of nights, held at Terrigal Crowne Plaza.

The Mariners Medal is the most prestigious individual award of the night that is decided on a 3-2-1 basis, selected by the players across the Hyundai A-League season in which his peers have deemed Kennedy the best player throughout the 2017/18 campaign.

De Silva claimed the ‘Men of Football Damien Brown Medal’, voted by the Central Coast Chapter as well as the ‘Central Coast Mariners Official Supporters Club Player of the Year Award’. The 21-year-old attacker was also the recipient of the ‘Noel Spencer Goal of the Year Award’ thanks to his combination with Andrew Hoole in Round two against the Western Sydney Wanders. De Silva’s 63rd minute length of the field team goal at Spotless Stadium was voted and decided upon by Mariners’ fans in an online poll.

The club’s Golden Boot Award was split between Blake Powell, Andrew Hoole & Connor Pain who all bagged four goals this season

Josh Nisbet was rewarded for his outstanding season by winning the Foxtel National Youth League player of the year award.

The #MarinersMedal is also about celebrating outstanding achievements off the field.

The Chairman’s Award is presented annually to an exceptional individual within the Mariners who is deemed to have gone above and beyond for the benefit of the Club. Affectionately known as ‘Dan the Membership Man’, Daniel Challinor (Central Coast Mariners Membership & Ticketing Manager) received the award for his tireless efforts in the community for the past three Hyundai A-League seasons and longer as an intern.

Nicholas Bessant is one of our most passionate team members and took home the Volunteer of the year award for his continued commitment to the Yellow & Navy.

DDS @Wombat
DDS is a very good athlete, he did have a dig but for me my problem or more disappointment is with his output as attacking midfielder. Far to often he was back getting the ball in front of the back 4, now this is probably due to the clowns who where running the team.

Unfortunately for him i also judge him higher than the likes of Pain and Hoole etc due to his ability and success as a young Socceroo.

He did not have any creativity, he didn’t supply his strikers or wingers with any opportunities to score. Not they fluffed his through balls. There weren’t any. Sure the system sucked but he is judged by results in that area of the field. Maybe Paul made him look bad but at some point he has got to produce something as Paul can’t be blamed for everything.

His shooting was horrible. Really second rate.

I also have been banging on about our limpness from our wingers and he just fell straight in with them unfortunately.

Look he absolutely was one of our better players for effort but effort is not enough up front.

I still probably would say he was our second best player but with Wout, that is not necessarily a good thing. 1. Their pedigree says they should be alot better and 2. the rest of the team stunk.

Our backs and mids did pretty good early in the season and where let down by the attack of which DDS is a main gog.

Statistically Hoole was alot more affective and we know how frustrating he is
Goals Hoole 4 vs DDS 3
Assists Hoole 8 vs DDS 1 - Wales had 2 assists and played 1,100 less minutes
Pain also had 4 goals and 4 assists and we all thought Hoole and Pain where hot and cold. They played more bad games than good.

I know stats don’t say everything but in the attacking part of the field i rate the results as important as without goals and assists you can’t win no matter how good the defence
