. yeah a lot of people talking about Lachie's poor crossing ... using his non-preferred foot in an unfamiliar role at a higher level than he is accustomed

. if the two had have been swapped maybe his crossing would have been getting the same praise as his set pieces - swinging the ball in with his preferred foot

. and you never know, with Appiah cutting in from the left he may have been able to shoot on target too
You had me agreeing wholeheartedly until the last sentence...

Yip, I'm feeling pretty negative. Hard to watch us fail to close ou a side reduced to ten and not just twice let our lead slip. but ultimately be outplayed by them. And yes...

Adsrubal - sorry, but it's over, he's a dud. His heart/effort is in the right place, but that's not enough.
Rose - sad to have come to this after so much initial promise, he was worse than a waste of a sub - from the point he and Bingham came on and Tommy and Kubi went off City dominated the midfield, we were unable to spend any real time in their half (which is galling) and worse we were he ones who got pushed deeper and deeper, as they controlled the rest of the game. This was Liam's chance to step up and show he's been hard done by, it was utterly wasted. Would have been better off bringing on Kekeris for Powell as he was beyond cooked and was destroying our attacking play by the last 20.
Bingham - does not look HAL standard. Did not hold the ball up for us when we needed so e field position and to get some control back, could not break, poor passing... TBF he was never really a winger, but he looks like he's gone backwards if anything.
Rowles - looks the goods. Should start in front of Storm at LB.
Kubi... ahhh shit... I mean he does a lot right but if you cant play the final ball or shoot... there's just no point.
Tom - we're absolutely lost without him.
Melling - few mistakes but a lot of good work and has true grit. I like him. Much better cover at DM than Rose.
Kennedy - Baro - very good solid games.
Storm - well tbh thought he was doing "ok" until Fitzy came on and then it looked they were going to score whenever they ran at him.
Powell - tried hard, nearly had the goal before McGing headed it in. But A) He's still not a ten, and B) He will never be consistent 10 goal + HAL quality striker. He's just a squaddie at best.
McGing - Guilty for first goal, but got one back and I thought had a some other decent moments. I still think he's doing really well and hope he continues to grow.
Golec - my CCM MOM. Some great intercepts, defended well, and even had a quality air swing ... really tried to lead by example at the end. Was tragic to see him run 70 odd metres and do what NO OTHER MARINER was doing only to then see it scuppered by Powell too tired to stay onside.
Wales - fantastic set pieces, in every other regard sadly it was not a very good game from him. Occasion may have gotten to him. Looked much more assured in his other appearances.

Very accurate summation, not much more I could add.

Sorry Wombat, I must line up with the others re Asdrubal. He has struggled to get in front of defenders for crosses all season, he is not a poacher and has not shown the ability to shoot from distance. I thought he speciality must be playing off a defender's shoulder if only we could provide through balls for him. Unfortunately he does not have the pace do that. He was signed after coming off a long injury, possibly a good gamble which has not come off. It appears to me that he has lost what sharpness he had. A shame but clearly not good enough.

Disappointed with the lack of urgency shown by Rose and Bigham when they came on. Neither provided any freshness or drive to a tiring team.

Trying to remain positive, even though we were playing against 10, the heart of our team has been gutted by injuries, U23s, and suspensions. It really was a second 11 out there today, unfortunately loosing Tommy was the straw that broke the camel's back.

What do we have for the future? As I see it.

Kennedy - starter, keep.
Golec - starter, keep.
Baro - starter, keep
Wout - starter, keep
Tommy - starter, keep
Powell - possible starter, keep
DDS - starter, keep

The rest, 2 or 3 possible up and comers, 2 or 3 bench players, the rest not good enough or past it.

You do realise you don't beat anyone if your strikers dont score regularly. Our goals came from sloppy play today. More arse than class and from 2 defenders to boot.
We need a new front 3 ASAP and its not going to happen. Therefore we won't be in the 6.
As for dominating today im not sure what game you were watching. 1st half ok but we were bossed by 10 men.

We don't have any strikers and the one we have I hope to God can't read any English or his confidence will be shot to pieces.
We need a lot of new players but we also have to get better at the absolute basics of the game.
Having a confident TBT and DDS will be the tonic we need.

We had f'all movement off the ball in the last 25 mins or so. No fight, no desire - except Golec. I could only think of the Mariners of old who would fight to the death for every scrap and find a way to win against better teams. No longer does that spirit abound.

I know we're depleted but that was a piss poor effort against 10.

Others have covered players, Melling does look decent enough so happy with the pick up.

What happened to Hiariej? I missed his injury

Looked like he had pulled his quad.

Well that was hard to watch, beaten by the individual brilliance of two Marquees, quality we simply can't match.

Did I hear correctly that Moss has a better win ratio at the same point in his Mariners career...?

Moss took Arnie’s side to the semifinals

Did you watch Trent in his start last night Wombat? Had a 1 on 1 and f**ked it worse than Asdrubal. He is not the answer but I'm willing to give him a shot.

Crowd turned on Asdrubal pretty bad too I noticed, after that butchered one on one he became a target.

New scapegoat, you heard it here first.

Yep, the fact he had Arnie's squad and structures is the only reason he has a better record than Paolo. Where Moss had a good side and pushed them down a hill, Paolo's got the opposite - a below-par side he's pushing uphill.

We know the potential's there, we see it in glimpses most games and we saw it for certain when we beat Sydney. Just need a full 90 performance.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
So ,let me get this straight, Okon played Lachie on his wrong side because that what must be done instead of swapping Wales and Kwabi over, so the kid had optimal control on his crosses....I repeat STUBBORN FKN ARSEHAT
