ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Let's at least aim for a clean sheet. On a positive note, our last two clean sheets came when we played the Nux.

With Pearce in goal though? I think we’re 30 odd hours away from confirmation that there is a worse aleague keeper than Kennedy...

Wouldn't have thought that possible. However......
From Pearce's perspective though i would guess this is his one and only chance to make a name for himself.

Serious question (for a change). What is Pearce's ball distribution like compared to Kennedy's 'close my eyes and hoof it over the touchline' approach? Not expecting Maty Ryan quality, but can we expect better than we've seen so far this year?
From what I saw of Pearce at training this week, his distribution was okayish but he was still his excellent impression of a statue during free kick practice, which is very worrying.

My big concern with him is his brittle confidence, so if he makes an early error, he will be gone for the rest of the game.

Melling just posted on Instagram 5 minutes ago a clip of his child in front of him in his house. I’m bloody hoping this means he’s been left here.

Erin from the podcast told me he saw Pearce hit the crossbar 3 times on the trot from the half way mark so he should trump Kennedy in that regard.

OH did you think training looked amateurish in any way shape or form?

I know Melling has issues and people are frustrated with him, but I personally think he’s not the biggest issue by a long shot.

Concerns I place in front of him are:
A subpar keeper - who imo has single handedly cost us several points this season

A stable backline - get this sorted and we can be more competitive. Clisby Millar Rowles and Cisse have been our best imo. So Aspro and Golec are fighting it out for a spot in my mind. Until Golec recovers form- once he does he can supplant both Rowles and Cisse in my estimation.

No CAM - too many years now without a true play maker has hurt us so badly. Caceres was a dm impostor and we still haven’t managed to fill that position ably.

Goal scoring - connected to cam - but it’s been a whole bag of issues, from injuries to fitness to poor signings etc

One thing that shits me ... We get an unproven coach, we all think that's part of our problem Other teams get an unproven coach, ones with zero experience and do well. Gah.

Fully agree with all your statements, but a solid defensive midfield, can solve a lot of the back line problems.
