ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

If we manage to get a decent crowd for this game, and if we win.
We're a good chance to host the final
Isn’t it random like every other round draw? Shouldn’t matter if we get 2 or 10k.

I want to see a big crowd from us but that should be a seperate issue from being able to host.

We're pretty sure that the host has never been randomly selected. Greg O'Rourke will pick where it's being hosted.

Jeez talking about stacking the odds pretty much means we need a regular season attendance for a midweek game to even get a look in. And practically no chance if we were playing most A league teams.

I heard that there was going to be a draw to decide hosting rights.

City only got 2k, if we manage 5k were looking okay.
Yep, very lucky it’s one of the few teams we have a shot at competing with on attendance. Got a job to do first before worrying about that though. Winning at home and reaching the final would be a boost ahead of the regular season too.

Just because FFA or A-league say their doing something, doesn't mean that they do.
They've said in the past that it's randomly drawn, but it never has been.
IMO it shouldn't be a random draw either, it should be done on a factor of crowd size or goals scored etc.

We get a pretty strong loyal following mid week. School holidays I’d expect 5k.

But FFA is will screw us if we win.

There was talk of having a draw to even it up after they just went with the money in a few finals

Do a free raffle for a bike or something for the kids with tickets only going to groups of 3 or more kids coming through the gates together.
1 boy prize one girl prize and get the prize donated by a local bike shop.
The more kids, the more adults, the bigger the crowd numbers...

Not going to have the desired effect when some dad has to explain to his kid he/she doesn’t get a ticket. Better to include everyone and make tickets as reasonably priced as possible.

A smart dad would would wait at the gate for 2 other kids so he`s kid gets a ticket.

The idea is that it`s a "free" raffle, which means the tickets are free if you have 3 kids or more.
Basically it`s trying to get kids to bring their mates and parents.
The prizes cost zip, so we don`t need to charge for the tickets.
The bike shop gets free plugs all night, 2 kids walk away with bikes (ok, ride away if they bring a helmet),
and we get a bigger crowd and possibly a home final if we win.
We also might get some kids hooked enough to come back.....

EVERYONE`S A WINNER

ps. If Dad gets the shits give the kid a f**king ticket, who cares it cost us nothing anyway.
PPS. Then put the stub in your pocket so the little shit doesn`t go into the draw
(F**k the whingers and political "mollycodling" correctness)

I understand the angle you’re going for and the idea of some give aways is a good one. I just think it unnecessarily excludes some kids including potentially some junior members. No need to sour a good event and turn them off coming back by telling a kid nope you don’t get one because marketing reasons. Chuck every junior ticket in the draw and be done with it, maybe even a bonus entry for junior members.

How petty do you have to be to suggest giving a kid a ticket and binning the stub because your idea was challenged?

Tis a good idea but give every kid under say 16 and yes some older ones will get them... but they can choose between a bike to the value of or a surf board or a sports pack with boots, bags etc...

Have it each match then if it works out ...
