ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

P.s. Silvera is number 17

Just tweeted Shaun.....
@SMielekamp Gday Shaun, wondering if your going to have words to Fox Football about the allegation on their website that the players were clapping “sarcastically” to the Hume fans just prior to the bottle throwing...dunno about you but I’m over their disgusting bias

Just watched the game for a 2nd time as l had it on record.

A lot has already been said so l might be repeating some stuff but my takeaways were -

1. Oar looks very good. An uninterrupted pre-season and injury free will see him be a big part of our attack and he played well last night

2. Silvera is quality. We've had a horrible track record of dud signings recently but we got this one spot on.

3. Stensness and Duric in midfield wasn't too bad. Stensness has a quality first touch and was mostly solid. Duric too will be a vital player for us

4. Attack never really got into gear imo. Simon was mostly isolated and didn't get into the game.

5. Hume were well organised but they got away with a lot of niggling fouls and some were very late and dangerous. The referee let them get away with a lot and the cards weren't out early enough.

6. Our depth is a concern. While l think our best 11 is good enough, everything outside that is a bit of a worry.

7. Birraz didn't have much to do but man, isn't it nice to not have to always be concerned about our keeper. Plays as a sweeper well and gives me confidence in his ability to deal with attacks and organise the defence which is a rarity over the last few seasons

8. Ziggy didn't have his best game, but l think us at Baker St. watching the game noticed is that he doesn't have great pace which means any forward runs will see our right being exposed. That happened a few times last night. He is definitely solid 1 v 1 and a good tackler but l think he will be a vital player for us.

9. I know the performance wasn't that good and it was an NPL side, but l think the clean sheet is a confidence booster and the squad won ugly.

10. Majok...........wow, got the lucky touch to score but that bloke has the worst first touch of a pro footballer l think l have ever seen.

The kind of logic often seen in people starting fights at train stations. They have the option to pull their head in and apologise and that’s what they go with. Even if it was sarcastic it was a clap not a racial or ethnic gesture and even then behaving like rabid dogs wouldn’t be ok. Lots of other stories coming out showing this isn’t an isolated problem.

From their chairman
"We don't approve of that sort of behaviour and we will be apologising to the Mariners and the FFA," Kaya said.

"It was just a small group who got angry with one of their players who had told them to shut up when the whistle blew for full time.

"There were a bunch of about five or six. We know who they are and they will be banned. We are not that sort of club and it is not good for us."

Head in the sand. There was far more than 5-6 heroes rushing at the tunnel and being feral. Maybe 5 or 6 bottles but they were just the worst of the bunch,

They should be banned from next years FFA Cup, that is then a good lesson for all clubs to control their supporters. Just 1 year and it will hurt financially as well for a club like Hume who have made good runs in the Cup. FFA needs to stand up here or just be the same as the old mob.

FFA shot themselves in the foot big time allowing the migrant clubs to use their cultural names etc again. On the face of it, it was a nice gesture (Small Eg, Charlestown becoming Azzuri again) but clearly way too naive. These blokes that turned feral in a millisecond used the fact they can use their flag again as an excuse for pointless hooligan crap.
There was a fair bit of crowd trouble in the VIC NPL this season too. FFA have to throw the book.
The only provocation was us getting a late winner and their ego’s not being able to deal with that given how cocky they were in the build up.

FFA never shot themselves in the foot. They were never going to win the court case Azzurri had against them so had to allow the names.
