ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Yeah but Optus buy content only, they don’t have all the camera crews and resources required to produce the content and probably never will so the A League will have to fund/sort this out themselves.
Foxtel already subcontract a large chunk of it. Not unreasonable for the league/FFA to wrap it all up as a package.

Yep true. The iHAL might need that support but going the optus path also allows for greater freedom with IP and season management. Fox will want blood for their $30-$40m a year. Now union is gone maybe they won't be stingy but I don't know.

I wonder if moving to winter is a help or hinderance with the subcontractors since we will be competing with the oval balls.

NPLTV is a great concept - an AL version would make content and then a platform could distribute (whether that is Optus.Stan or even Fox).

Requires capital to get going as content costs. Maybe thats something the newly independant AL is looking at?
Would love to see this and be the first Oz sport to do so. Pretty sure the J League did this and went from strength to strength. I like that the league has to make something happen Now instead of just relying on Fox money.

A big benefit to packaging the product for Optus or another platform is the ability to recruit their own talent. Don’t like Slater or Speed? No worries don’t hire them.

Can you advise on any A-League marketing programs for next season... just seems like Football is invisible and its not that far off starting...

The campaigns are being worked on - I think that once the independence is locked away we will see the league start to stand of our own feet better. I know there is a membership drive week being planned - but they need to get the draw finalized next above all. It has been near impossible for them with ACL draw changes and border restrictions. So the next step is the draw, then members drive then marketing campaign.

It’s around midday 7 December, 2020.

The season starts on 27 December or in 20 days’ time.

Our first match is 31 December or 23 days.

Memberships are on sale.

Our draw is not friendly to Sydney based fans.

You have a history of not saying things that are not signed sealed and ready for delivery and for that huge respect.

However, there is no hiding as of right now, this is the worst squad going into a season we have ever had.

You mentioned on Mariner TV we have two potential overseas players… can you give an update…

Further on the same episode you suggested a couple of more senior players to be signed… again can you give an update…

The lack of communication from the club IMO in talking around town is starting to hurt.

Good, bad or indifferent, can you provide an update of when new players announcements should be made and were they are from…

Being the A-League “member’s week”, I’m optimistic a few new signings will be announced soon.
