ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

he really give it all and only a world class save from Thomas stopped him from scoring the goal of the year
the most shitfull thing is i thought thomas was outstanding and even before half time wished we had him.
if tomorrow you offered me honda (fit) or thomas . i'd take thomas in a heart beat

Rowles did a tonne of great work, won a lot of headers, never stopped working and stopped multiple forays down his side. Most of their joy came through Millar/O’Neil’s side. But he made 3 or 4 scary errors.

Still young and those kind of errors come with the package I’m afraid.

I love his mongrel. Good speed. Developing well. Just not the finished article. I can see what Wombat is worried about, but he also does a lot right.
like your opinion, wombats is one of the most respected i read . but his seating position in the case of the second half is ,
not great . rowles was very good . the 3rd goal was from aspro over running the ball .
against costa Barbarouses who probably would be a good player in the english championship.
not a boy with 15 games under his belt

Shouldn't have come to that. We gave them ball too easily and were incredibly lazy in defence
And in attack. Matty seems to take forever to get back onside after an attack. A couple of times last night, I saw us win the ball in midfield and they couldn't pump it forward because Matty was still ambling back and way offside.

. and that is what you get when your main striker (who ain't young anymore) has to go from playing 15 mins a match (as he has done for the past three years)* to playing the full 90 every week
... even more so when he has to play 6 games in 3 weeks or whatever it has been
..... compounded by a shambolic strength and conditioning situation

* unresearched generalisation for the sake of the argument

rowles was mom and our best
Rowles gets caught way to high on the switch of play. He cut off quite a few but there are times the ball bounces back towards MV side of half way and he goes after it. It’s aggressive but dumb. He is pulled all the way to halfway and over sometimes. Then we are left horribly exposed and they drive straight into the hole he created.

He needs to leave the ball alone. It’s not in a dangerous part of the field and get back and defend with his line. If MV plough forward that’s connar and the midfields problem.

Also our team is to dumb to work as a unit when this happens and slide over for cover. Aspro needs to go straight to the left to cover, ONeill over to the middle and Snake has to get back. This doesn’t happen. Then the cut back is on because the midfield doesn’t come back either. We get killed by this on both sides but Rowles goes to ground way to often around halfway.

Stay on your feet and get back into defence

Kye has done it tough for atleast a month now, but you can definitely see he’s fighting so hard to rectify it fighting for us.

We really need to extend his contract. He’s improved out of sight as a whole this season.

I also think it’s time to ditch the wing back system.

Defensively we are not well drilled and we have a keeper with weak hands who doesn't command his box.

Going to City isn’t he?

The fact that we haven’t heard about any re-signings like Rowles and Pain is telling.

Rowles made same amazing tackles and took some great positions. I didn't pay attention to him all game so he also might have made blunders I missed, but on the good I saw and knowing his age I would totally lock him down for the future. He is going to be an excellent defender when his game is well rounded and consistent

Tactics going forward seem pretty simple. Take the lead in the first half playing a high press. Try for as many goals as possible. Second half drop back to 442 at least defensively. Even 541 if we have to to see out the game.

How many mistakes did Kennedy make leading to the equaliser. 90 seconds before the goal it was like an under 10 game where a new keeper plays every week. Aspro was screaming at him to come for the ball as he shielded the ball. Should have claimed it and the ball was down to half way.
