We had more shots! If we had a proper striker who could get them on target we might start sinking a few.

Crowd was just over 7k, well short of MC's 10k target.

Looked about 5-6k and half were little Nortbridge grommets running around not even watching the game. An epic fail after giving away thousands of free tickets.

FFA please take the licence off this clown. Give to Singo who would enjoy the benefits that the COE is set to bring him.

The COE currently owns the club, not the other way around - there's no guarantee that a Singo (or LM, or community)-controlled CCM would have access to the COE at the rate (presumably free) that the club enjoys now.

Not to mention that there's currently no grounds to take the licence off MC; if the FFA were to try that they'd end up in court with MC demanding compensation.

i think so

It definitely happened, when the banner went up as the game was finishing a copper went to the back of the group who were holding the banner up and had words with a few people, then as we were walking out 2 cops were walking out Peter (?) but I have no idea why as there was no reason for it. They were just holding up the banner which i saw later on on Fox sports.

How absolutely demoralising The Mariners now have there very own Tinkler in Charlseworth, and the the team as rolling stones should gather no more Moss!

All Too Easy for Victory
This was as bad as it gets. As half time approached my wife, who does not like football, said “What will you write about today? They aren’t doing anything”. My wife may not like football but she was right, as all wives are. "I’ve got nothing” I replied.
With storm clouds gathering on and off the pitch this game was a compete let down. The highlight of a drab first half was Berisha charging down Reddy’s clearing kick. Mat Simon was doing well, retaining the ball better than anyone has this season, Adrian Leijer was lucky not to get a second yellow, and Richard Vernes began to look like a decent player but I don’t think Victory keeper Nathan Coe had a shot to save.
As so often this season the talking points were about Phil Moss’s selections. Simon was in the starting line-up despite not being in the original squad; Monty returned at the unlucky cost of Trifiro. Neither Jacob Poscoliero or Eddie Bosnar was sighted; Zac Cairncross the defender on the bench.
The Victory started the better and the Mariners came home the stronger towards half-time. A fine slalom-like run from Vernes got the excitement going and Hutchinson, in a rare advanced position played a nice pass to Fitzgerald which came to nothing. But this was a very hard game to watch.
The Mariners began the second half quite well, Vernes had a shot, and then Caceres, both quite tame but at least they had a go. The defence looked comfortable, the scrambling to deny Victory space was good and Zac Anderson was reading the play intelligently. One desperate clearance of the ball as Reddy and he got tangled up was first class.
Simon lasted 55 minutes before being replaced by Duke; he had done well, holding up the ball and bringing others into the play, but was clearly tiring. The Mariners were weaving patterns in midfield, as they so often do, and then it all came undone. Thompson on the break fed Berisha, who was too quick for the static Rose and Neill, and the Albanian tucked the ball past Reddy. It was all too easy.
The Mariners responded with their best move of the match: a delightful ball over the defence from Caceres to Vernes whose volley went wide. Five minutes later the game was as good as over.
The defence cleared the ball, Duke headed it down to Monty, but he doesn’t quite have the touch for these situations and Georgievski stole in, took a couple of steps forward and bear Reddy with a superb curving shot to the top corner. It was an outstanding goal; it clinched the game. The goal shy Mariners were never going to come back. Connor Pain then added to the agony converting Barbarouses’s precise cross at the far post.
Trifiro and Sim came on but it was too little, too late. In the death throes Duke acrobatically flicked at a Fitzgerald cross, then couldn’t even hit the target with a genuine opportunity and finally Fitzgerald found the top corner of the net with a strong drive, but it was the outside corner not the inside.
As the game ended Moss and Sullivan went over to thank Victory for the game; the Victory thanked them for the three points.
Victory were not good today, but it was all too easy; they didn’t even need their trade mark Victorian chip on the shoulder arrogance. It was hard to tell what effect the off-field dramas are having; the Mariners are playing without two key imports; true leadership is lacking from top to bottom.
I will give Vernes my MoM with support from Simon, Anderson and the ever willing Fitzgerald but this was an awful performance. Anthony Caceres has the skills but seems to lack the mental application to control the game. For the first time I can remember I am looking forward to a January transfer window where we may gain good players instead of losing them. If we can’t improve this side then Charlesworth may have to think about clearing space in the trophy cabinet for the wooden spoon.

The only highlight from the mariners for me was Reddy taking the full force of Zac Anderson to the head sending bodies flailing only to pause for a moment, shake it off and go back about his business.
Its a refreshing sight to see in modern professional football.

Oh and Caceres's delicious cross to Vernes that unfortunately sailed over the bar off the volley.

I thought our first half was pretty decent actually. I thought they had better chances but our patterns of play were quite good all in all. That said, our second half was... well, poo.

I'd have to watch it again with clearer eyes to be able to give detailed commentary, we were in a noisy pub with no commentary and we were eating so my attention was less than normal. But clearly for a ten minute period right around the substitutions the wheels fell right off and we were f**king witless.

There's a gap in class; Victory have a very good, very balanced squad and they've got both quality and depth. We're thinner on both and that's not about to change. *Including* if we punt the gaffer.

All we can do is control the things we can control, like not f**king sleepwalking through a ten minute period where we go from in the game to in another league entirely. It's not just last night either. Almost *all* goals conceded this year are the result of inattention and errors rather than good football.

If we can't sort that out, it's going to be a long year.

I was at BT and the bloke from the Advocate got some fairly nice quotes from the protesting attendees, I'd say who was there, but I dont think its my place to do so
Couple of quotes included
1-the lack of promotion on the coast for games at BT, at say Erina fair or Westfield...yet he papers North Sydney with freebies for the nso game
2- How come Charlesworths alledged 20% of ccm fans on the north shore don't go to the Sydney FC v Mariners games at SFS and
3-how the office is seemingly trying to alienate themselves from "the paying customers"

Like I told the guy, sure we can all get together and promote the game on the 27th BUT the boys have to give the casuals a reason to come back...and 3-0 scorelines don't attract casuals at all

And the banner removing antics at nso ain't gonna further the owners cause any

While I agree Mariners put in a plucky first 45, the gulf in attacking class was glaring. The ease with which Victory went forward and peppered our goal was depressing to see in comparison to watching Fitzgerald dribbling along a parade of defenders one more time before lobbing one at the keeper.
We have some good players but as a team we've got nothing. Ask yourself who can we beat this season? We cannot control a game, we have not yet even got out in front only to be pegged back.
We're in trouble on and off the pitch.
The only option I can contemplate is a big marquee, and even if the loan could be raised it remains to be seen if the pitch-blaming coach can handle the politics.
Troubling times.
