ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Lol.....now might be about time for a review.
The season is a disaster so far and unless Mossy changes strategy if will remain so and he will be out if a job.
Given I posted it yesterday, fair to say I hold the same view as I did then.

Of course, this thread could be about something other than attacking others' views simply because they don't agree with you. You're not going to agree with me, I'm not going to agree with you, let's move on.

So here's the thing... We seem to actually be able to get the ball up front in a reasonable position. From memory, we have had at least two clear goal-scoring opportunities in each of the last three games - and I'm referring to the kind that my dead nanna would have scored off, not the ones that look likely or could/might result in a goal. So far (and I'm holding on tight to my wooden table here) we also haven't experienced anything like some of the real nasty hidings that we copped last year so, while our defence is no longer the envy of the league it would suggest that it is also not quite as nasty as we make it out to be.
Looking at that, and stats, I'd suggest that our problem has more to do with our manpower than with Mossy's strategy. Reasonably speaking, if it was because he'd been found out by everyone, we should be leaking goals like there's no tomorrow and not getting any shots on... Also, we shouldn't have any possession to speak of.
So, I think there's a fair bit of validity to the comment posted by someone (I think it's was either nearlyYellow or Jaundice? - or maybe CaptainCoastie? ) pointing out that we have lost an incredible amount of stock in the last couple of years and that we are now playing with a relatively young squad...

We need a f**king 9.

No f**king stop gap, might score a few goals, winger who could do a job. We have plenty of those.

Until we find him, stop signing f**king midfielders. They won't do what we need, they won't improve the teams performance & they won't score goals.

If we had a 9 (the right 9) the midfielders we have will score goals. Kim would have performed better & Mane may have worked out.

NO MORE f**kING MIDFIELDERS.

Please.

accurate statement.
I don't believe there's much more to the Williams talk than the one mention anyway

We appear to be going no where and have gone backwards against every other side we have faced so far this year.
I'd love to know what the 3 year plan is because the 1 year plan is pretty bloody woeful.

We didn't keep the ball. For all that people bitch when we're passing sideways and backwards, while we're doing that we're in control. For vast swathes of yesterday's game we just didn't keep the damn ball.

When we did for the first proper period of possession, we worked forward with numbers and scored a goal...

Interesting the coaches at PG, Nux, AU, MV, SFC all being praised for how they recruited and in the media more is being made of the skill in recruiting the right players ... with WSW said to have recruited well but with injuries and travel and games ... wait for the second half of the competition... MC jury is still out...

The flip side of the coin is Jerks, Roar, and us are not talked about but the undertone is recruitment has been poor ...

Visa player recruitment is a lottery. Arnie signed Zwaanswijk and then replaced him with Seip; He signed Perez, who, just like Mane, didn't settle.
McKinna got it right when he took a punt on McGlinchey but lost out when it came to Travis.
When we had Monty, McGlinchey and Zwannie we were the dog's bollocks; now we are just bollocks - but that can easily change.
