Gentlemen you are to be congratulated for your initiative.

Many on here  have been asking for information for many a year.

It seems strange, however, to use this forum and not the CCF web site to provide information and insite regarding CCF issues.

It's not a  forum

Of course the word forum has more than one meaning.

Wilson you don't seem to understand my point. Why provide information about your organisation on an unrelated site, when it seems obvious and simpler to do it through your own agenda.

There would be little need for CCF to come onto this forum and clarify the latest if it was done on their web site by the office staff..

Besides a posting about stolen bags there is nothing on the CCF site since announcement of  Branch Trials on April 10th.

That is except for match reports about Lightning teams in the relevant section.

Not quite sure what sort of information you are asking for.All general information from the CCF is distributed to the clubs directly and reports from each of the Directors are delivered to the club delegates at the monthly meeting.

Because of the ever changing nature of the draw, this is distributed to the clubs fixtures officers who make it available to their members.
Results for last weekend (1 and 2 May) were posted on the website at 7.38pm on sunday night.
Pointscores were delayed to disputed or non-reported results and were not posted until 8.03 pm opn the 5th May.

The website design and structure has been the subject of a lot of discussion and debate and we are currently in the process of updating and re-designing it.

Unfortunately some of the delegates are fantastic in distributing information whilst many leave a lot to be desired.

Why take the risk. Why can't information be put straight onto your web site?

Same info out there for everyone no misunderstandings.

A couple of points brought up in theses threads.

Is it true some Lightning Coaches have advised their players not to trial for branch teams? If this is the case what is the reasoning behind this?

Who is coaching the branch teams?

Surely no games on ANZAC Day should have been advised on the web site. No problem with the decision just would have liked to have seen it published.

Why are 17 & 18's teams, particularly from the peninsula, being forced to travel to Wyong grounds.

excellent point, i as one of those players am sick of travelling a minimum 20/25 minutes or even half an hour just to get to the game, surely CCF and the council could work something out to renovate a gosford council, e.g fagans park, gavenlock, or even james browne oval

Your comments regarding the website are appreciated, as is your view on the delegates. On the website at present are the results, pointscores, CC Cup draw and results, CCF rules and regulations, code of conduct,  information regarding holiday camps and ongoing development programs, branch title trial details, coaching licence details, notices regarding monthly coaching update sessions, SSG rules, regs and procedures, calendar for club run Gala Days, ground open/closed status, releases from FNSW and details about upcoming CCL and Thunder matches, items from clubs, resources for clubs to assist officials in understanding their role and responsibility, Member protection forms and information and much more.
I have commented before about the reason as to why the competition draw is not on there, however it is forwarded to all clubs so it is up to them if they display it on their web site.

As to the other matters raised - the question regarding what Lightning coaches tell or don't tell their players is really not for speculation here. The branch titles and selection process is supported 100% by CCF and CCL and every Lightning player has been advised of the selection process. The notice is on the website and the CCL section of the website and has been sent to every club on the Coast, many of whom also have it displayed on their website. If any coach (Lightning, Thunder or club) has advised players not to trial it is an internal matter to be dealt with by the Board of that club and the coach concerned.

The coaches of the Branch teams have been appointed. I am aware of who they are and which teams they have, but until FNSW decide to officially make those appointments public then I am not at liberty to disclose them here. What I can say though is that all of the ones I have been advised of so fare are Central Coast based coaches.

Point taken about ANZAC Day - even though it was in the draws released to the clubs at the start of the season, it is a good suggestion that perhaps a reminder could have been put on the website that there were no games on that day.

I'll answer the 17s/18s question in the next reply

I agree wholeheartedly - it is an unacceptable situation and one we have been at odds with Gosford Council about since the introduction of the Friday night games for 18s (and lately 17s).

The fact remains that there is not one single ground (except Pluim) in the Gosford Council area allocated to football that has lighting to the standard required to play night competition matches. Gosford Council has refused to make any funding available to upgrade facilities to enable matches to be played at any of the grounds in the area. Council has made it clear that the clubs will have to pay for the lighting if they want it upgraded. We have used every argument imaginable - the sheer volume of numbers who play the sport, the lack of facilities, the need to play at night because of the lack of grounds, even the moral argument that between 6pm and 10pm on a Friday night we have around 400 17-18 year olds that are taking part in a healthy, organised sporting competition - not hanging around the streets, pubs, railway stations etc. I even pleaded with the clubs to let their members know what the situation was and before the last council election to canvass the candidates and make their concerns known.
Even when Rugby League cancelled Friday night games last year after an incident at Woy Woy Oval, we approached council and asked if we could have access to that field on a Friday night seeing that Rugby League neither needed to nor wanted to use it and were told simply "No - that is allocated to Rugby League". I even offered to pay for the erection of dual goal posts on the ground.

CCF paid $250,000 to floodlight the grounds at Pluim so they met FNSW standards and night competition standards. At present, there are night matches being played on there by the clubs in the Central Coast Cup midweek. Night matches do more to accelerate the deterioration of the playing surface than anything else. Last season there were 1068 matches played at Pluim, the majority of them midweek and evening games that were played out of necessity as there was no where else for them. If you played that many games at Wembley it would look much the same way as Pluim did for the finals series last year - and nobody wants that to happen again.
Council has indicated that it would cost $40-$50K to light one ground up to standard and will not contribute to these costs. This is the same council who's mayor at the time (not the current one) was quite happy to parade on Bluetongue at a CCM game taking the accolades for their part contribution to the electronic scoreboard and screen (which is excellent btw) that is used about 20 times a year, and in the case of NRL - by non-Central Coast teams.

Being able to "work something out" with council on this issue is not as simple and straightforward as it may seem.

Fair enough it is quite obvious that council is not doing the right thing. We all need to lobby council to get them to be more proactive.

The government is currently throwing money around willy nilly but football doesn't seem to be getting a fair shake.

One would have thought, with his family involvement, the current mayor would show an interest.

The grounds committee at council certainly have a black and white approach to administration.

What is the latest with Erina High School grounds?  Are there plans to use other school grounds?

My comments regarding the council related to floodlighting existing grounds. The following is the situation with Erina, with thanks to Avoca FC.

Erina High School Development

This has been a project that Avoca FC has been lobbying for since 2002,
and given the absence of any suitable land sites, offers us with the
only valid option for a local home ground in the foreseeable future.

Gosford Council has contributed $1.4 million (Section 94 developer
funds), thanks to Belinda Neal the Feds have kicked in $900,000 and the
state government has contributed $20,000 via a capital assistance grant.
Avoca FC has committed to contribute $40,000 of our members money to
ensure the allocation to football.

The development includes a new amenities building (canteen, change
rooms, storage, toilets), ground works and re-surfacing for a full sized
pitch and a large modified size pitch, water harvesting with 500,000
litres of underground water tanks, flood lights at 100 lux for U/17 - 18
Friday night competition and additional car parking.

Intended occupation was for March 2009 however like many large council
projects, it has been delayed until 2010 season.

The Memorandum of Agreement, contracts and funding arrangements will
provide a template for other community partnerships with schools.

Chris Holstein has been a strong supporter of this project.

OK, so no questions yet, I can respect that, in the meantime please read the following:  In short it says nothing can be worn in the way of jewellery on the field except medical alert bracelets or necklesses, which must be taped onto the arm or chest etc.

The jewellery pdf file can be downloaded from the FNSW website or click on the attachment to this article

ISSUED BY THE NSW STATE REFEREES COACH
FNSW JEWELLERY POLICY
FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION AND IMPLEMENTATION
This policy, in its entirety, is to be strictly adhered to and enforced by ALL match
officials controlling matches played under the auspices of Football NSW regardless of
the grade or level of competition they are officiating.
Introduction:
Despite Law 4 being quite specific about the wearing of jewellery, it is obvious that
there are still a number of match officials who either do not understand the
requirements or choose to ignore them. In order to gain greater consistency the
following is a summary of the requirements when applying Law 4.
Law4:
This Law states that:
 Nothing dangerous is to be worn.
 No jewellery is to be worn.
These directions are also restated in the Additional Instructions to Referees section
of the Law Book. These two statements are related, but not dependent upon each
other.
The Law is quite specific, however, about no jewellery being worn.
Instructions to Match Officials
The following is now National Policy, and became effective 1 January 2006.
Earrings:
 No form of earrings or studs are acceptable
 The practice of taping earrings/studs or piercings is unacceptable
REFEREES CIRCULAR
Date Issue
22/04/08
ISSUED BY THE NSW STATE
REFEREES COACH
FOOTBALL NSW LIMITED
A.B.N. 25 003 215 923
Facial Rings/Piercings:
 Any kind of jewellery around the eyes must be removed
 Jewellery in any other part of the face must also be removed
 The practice of taping facial rings or piercings is unacceptable
Necklaces:
 All necklaces including metal, rope, fabric, or such other material must be
removed.
 Medical alert necklaces only may be worn but they must be taped securely to
the chest.
Bracelets:
 All bracelets including metal, rope, fabric, or other such material must be
removed.
 Medical alert bracelets only may be worn but must be taped securely to the
wrist.
Body Piercing:
Any piercing not visible to the referee is not of concern.
Should the piercing become visible then the referee will require that
the player remove it before being permitted to enter or re enter the
field of play.
Rings:
 All rings must be removed
 This includes flat wedding rings
 Taping or otherwise covering rings will not permitted under any
circumstances
Watches:
 Players must remove all watches. Match officials are excluded from this
directive as a watch is a necessary part of the referees equipment.
Beaded Hair:
 If a player is wearing hair beads the hair must be tied in a bun or covered by a
hair net
 Loose beaded hair will not be permitted
Hair Clips:
 Any hard rigid hair anchor e.g.: Metal or plastic hair clips, bobby pins,
headbands, etc are not permitted. The use of fabric or elastic type hair
restraints will be permitted providing they do not constitute a danger to either
the player or an opponent
FOOTBALL NSW LIMITED
A.B.N. 25 003 215 923
Spectacles:
 Refer to the Additional Instructions for Referees section of Law Book for
National Policy.
 This instruction is fairly open ended and allows for the referee to make a final
decision.
 This is offered as a guide to members of the St. George Football Referees
Association Inc. when attempting to make a determination as to whether a
players spectacles are safe or not.
 Basically the risk is assessed as the frames of the spectacles and not the
lenses themselves
 Spectacles consisting of metal frames should be considered unsuitable and
not permitted to be worn.
 Spectacles made of flexible plastic or other similar material such as sports
spectacles would be acceptable.
Casts/Splints:
Casts, splints, joint or limb supports will not be permitted
regardless of the material they are manufactured from.
 Padding, bandaging or otherwise disguising of casts etc. is also not permitted.
 Players will be permitted to wear elastic type muscle supports providing they
are close fitting and in the opinion of the referee do not constitute a danger.
 Referees should be vigilant when inspecting such equipment that players are
not concealing such apparatus under medical bandaging etc.
Referees:
 In keeping within the spirit of these guidelines, referees are required to
conform to the identical standards set for the players, with the exception of the
need to wear watches
 Referees need to be diligent in carrying out these instructions and be aware of
players trying to circumvent the policy
 Players who are found to have breached the jewellery policy are to asked to
rectify the problem prior to the commencement of the game or are to be asked
to leave the field at the next stoppage in play. Where a player has disregarded
an instruction from a match official to remove an article of jewellery that player
is to be cautioned and shown the yellow card
 The game is not to be delayed in any way whilst a player corrects their
equipment/jewellery

Talking about the canteen and the facilities at Pluim in general.

I recall there was a master plan to do Pluim up, revamp the car park etc.

There was a grant that seemed to dematerialise.

What's on the drawing board for the future?

There was a grant we obtained from the State Government for $350,000 that had to be matched dollar for dollar by the Association. The grant didn't really dematerialise, but the funds that we had available for our contribution did. Because of our inability to match the grant, the government had to withdraw its offer. I don't think there is any need to go into the difficulties that were caused for the Association at that time, except to say that we are now two years into a successful plan to get back on track financially.

The work is continuing on the canteen to comply with Gosford Council requirements. Some of these requirements include no exposed brickwork, tiling and exhaust fans for the covered barbecue area. Until then we have to continue trading from a makeshift temporary location with many limitations regarding what we are able to provide.

Whilst the short term priority is for CCF to continue to trade profitably, revisiting a long term development proposal is something that is being dealt with under our current strategic planning process. The strategic plan is also taking longer than anticipated due to the lack of response from the members after being put to the clubs for the last 4 months (only 6 volunteers out of 23 clubs and nearly 15,000 members have been willing to make any contribution to the process).

As far as the upgrading of the facilities at Pluim are concerned, this is an ongoing work in progress. The fencing has been completed around field one, which will be followed by other fields, painting and upgrading the grandstands, improvements to the car park as well as examing various solutions to our water supply problems.

I agree the fencing looks good.
My delegate reminds me however that one of the new directors apparenly implied that he had everything in place for canteen to be completed. Seems this may have been something like a state or federal electorial promise?
Whilst it is appreciated that GCC do not want us to use their grounds and thus refuse to spend the $m's Rudd gave them on upgrading lighting for competitions on fields. Surely the political weight of Soccer (football), 14,000 players, and 100,000+ relatives and supporters should be brought to bear by CCF on GCC.
Also we are told we cannot have G17 and G18 on Pluim Friday nights except in exceptional circumstances. It is appreciated that night games deteriorate fields quicker than day games but why is it OK for the reps to train on them night after night? Having family members involved I know this happens. In addition other training accadamies are also held of a nightime. Many of these are more destructive to fields as they are conducted in rectricted areas on fields and not over the full field as a normal game would be. Asked the CCF HPM one night and got a an answer along the lines of "what is more important?". Clubs and their 14,000 players do not seem importartant to many at CCF and their employees as do the 1-2 hundred rep players.
Delegates meetings are, according to our delegate, a joke. Most delegates are too intimidated to even ask a question and the couple that have the audaciousness to do so are shouted down by a couple of the directors who seem to control those meetings, no matter the subject.
Geoff you seem to br receptive to suggestions. Therefore may I suggest that you as chairman stand on the toes of those directors below you who tend to intimidate the delegates.
May I also ask what pressure CCF exerts on GCC aldermen from a voter number situation. Have we, the CCF with such a political voter base, ever considered running a candidate or two or three at local council elections? Surely we have the numbers to gain power.
Did not intend to turn this into a witch hunt but got carried away.

Not having a canteen or even team sheets at the CC's "Premier" football ground is amateurishness beyond comprehension.

Why should GCC lift a finger when it is quite apparent that CCL/CCF is an organisation in chaos?

MarMic... Whilst i am a usual critic of CCF I do not believe they are in crisis. No more than anyone in this economoc crisis.
However as I see it I see it as there several strong decisions that need to be made or they may very well be in chaos as you say.
It would appear that we are going to get a new GM, by any other name. This will from my info cost us around $100K including OOP and other expenses. At recent delegates meetings we were told a new GM would not cost anything. About time CCF came clean. If they are going to sack anyone to compemsate, please do so so we at the clubs know what it is going to cost us. Geoff, an answer please as to how the new GM, (CEO) whatever he will be called, will be paid without further pain upon clubs and their members.
