ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Season 1 of HAL, first away trip to Newy and corporate boxes above us in the stands were spitting on us! not once or twice but all thru out the game. :vomit:

That in itself speaks volumes about the folk of Scumsville, 5 seasons later seems nothings changed.

Thought Rosebuds were finalists in 1984 but have checked OzFootball and you are right.

Didn't consider the humiliations that are wodden spoons as they are not official trophies.

it must be kinda embarrassing to be mr celery and marinermick, being ex newcastle fans and all

I know mate ... how you could loose such hard core rusted on football folk.... you must be so ashamed ... and Mr T would be well aware of the old business saying ... a customer lost never returns...

Try not to loose to much sleep over it but, as when added to were you are in the table and the lack of spirit in your team... you will never get any sleep....

so you bailed on your home town because they weren't good enough/were going through tough times/didn't like the new owner or whatever. fair enough.

I know one of them had a real problem with the dodgy way the Breakers were given the arse and then Casino Con had a franchise admitted overnight which was basically operated via his mobile phone.

Somebody else may be able to shed more light on that one, however...

No, actually I moved to the Central Coast just as Con was shafting the Breakers.

Was fortunate the Mariners came a few years later.

Never ever supported the false entity that was Newcastle United. The club was born out of lies, deceit and falsity and kharma continues to kick it in the guts.

There was an amusing link somebody posted using the Penrith Panthers and Marconi as a metaphor for the way the Breakers got shafted. Worth digging up if it can be found, fairly damning stuff...

fair enough, mate. i don't really see how it's a "false entity" despite how the club was conceived (cue celery), but obviously you are/were bitter over the liquidation of the breakers. must be a bit weird to support a club that is a fierce rival with a club that represents the town you grew up in and supported throughout your life.

but whatever, good luck to you.

I've lived the sum total of 1 year in Newcastle. The rest of my 'growing up' has been overseas, interstate, Regional NSW, and City of Lake Macquarie. So not weird at all p-diddy.

I'm pretty sure most of the Newcastle United individuals that shafted the Breakers have departed the scene, Con was the last I think. So my hatred for the Jets has somewhat diminished. However it's interesting to note that some of them are still involved in that lunatic asylum that is NNSWSF.

If Con & Co had simply taken over the Breakers rather than shaft them, I'm sure I would have still have supported Newcastle. And I may never have had the good fortune to embrace the Mariners.

Funny how life turns out for the best.

lake macquarie is the same thing man.

Sorry P but it isn't the same thing.... Newcastle is Newcastle, Lake Mac is Lake Mac, Central Coast is Central Coast - The Beauty of Lake Mac is its right in the middle and you have people supporting both teams..

Our ID's and ZPL squads at Morisset are full of guys who support both the Mariners and Jets... Lake Mac is its own Football identity - its not part of Newcatsle Football and to suggest its the same thing is just incorrect.

re: the whole small YA support!

I left cos i remember being a young'n, 10 or something going
to SPIRIT POINT, and being completely brought in by all around
and being told what to sing and when, high fives etc

YA, was not diabolically the opposite, possibly the most unweloming
place in a game ive ever been too ( NS, Socceroos, Oranje, MV)

Ironically the only time it really worked for mine (since joining in 07)
was 24th of Feb and even then we were absolutely trounced by those opposite
in every aspect.

get rid of the politicking people allow ALL, and from lil things big things can grow. . .
i curently dont hold my breath. on the flip side, the rest of the stadium has become alot more
vocal this season then ever before, so maybe one day the YA will be from bays 1 - 40 or what ever :eek:verhead:
