So help me out here ???
The choice is between Rowles ......... who can defend but no right foot ....... or
McGing who can’t defend but has a right foot. Assuming that Millar is not in the picture so assume he can’t defend or have a right foot ???

Eh wat ????

Rowles for me. Modern day footballers should be able to play on their weaker foot and be able to be adaptable. No one is really worried if WeeMac or Connor plays on the right and the principal is the same. I think that is one position that we don't have a natural player, it's up to someone who potentially wouldn't otherwise to be in the match day squad to make it their own.

No one said McGing could defend just he was the best right footed imposter of a defender .

Agree and worst case Rowles keeps kicking it over the sideline. Izzo could do that from the middle and was aloud to have help from his hands.

Rowles is a much much better option than McGing even on his wrong side.

I hope

I think the rational would be that Jake just isn't a RB. He can fill in if needs be for a few games but we need to be forward thinking and blood someone in that position for a season long stint. With Millar i think he has potential but isn't quite ready for a starting position and would be a potential liability. Hopefully Kyle does well and makes it his own and problem solved. Absolutely left field but i actually think Jordan Murray could do a decent job there, Duke like. He is a natural goal scorer though and hopefully will be a big asset off the bench.

I personally don't think Kye Rowles would suit right back, and while I'm more than happy to be proven wrong, I can't see it. His biggest struggle has been his positioning and that's in his preferred position, how is he going to go in a new one where it is especially important?

It's a problem area for sure, i would have loved us to get a specialist RB but all in all we have a great squad. It might take 5 or 6 games to get this right.

That goes for me as well. Rowles didn’t look to settled in campbelltown at fullback .......... anyway I think that is who the mediocre commentators called. :-|

3 players fighting for the same spot shows the depth is good. I would have to go with McGing over Rowles and Millar just because of the experience he now has. Jake has 74 A-League games under his belt compared to 13 for Rowles and of course 0 for Millar.

Three players fighting for a starting spot that is not their preferred position or side of the park ??? ........does not represent depth to me. Depth would be three specialist rightbacks fighting for the one spot ......... :yellowcard:. On the basis of your assessment “joho” ......... we have 23 contenders for the rightback spot  but I digress ..........

When one of the contenders has 74 games and one has nil ............ really ............:yellowcard:............:redcard:

That was fun .

That's fair enough to say that McGing or Rowles aren't RB's and l would have liked to have seen a replacement for Roux as a specialist RB, our recruitment focused on other areas so we have to go with what we've already got. Millar was brought in as an RB/RW and thought he was ok in trial games but l am not sure he's ready yet. McGing is the one we have to go with imo.

I am happy to wait and see how mm solves the situation ...... he obviously will have a solution that he will put up with ......... otherwise he would have brought in a rb wouldn’t he ???.

One solution would be to park the bus :grouphug: ........

I could safely say that McGing would have not been capped in any other A-League in the past three seasons.

You can see that Mulvey is worried about the Frenchie on the left. Not the best solution but I can see where he is going with this. He also wants to reward Rowles for an excellent preseason.

There is also a small part of me (very small) that thinks this could move to three at the back at some stage. Maybe Wombat only saw the tactical session where we start with four at the back, or the tactical session where we move to four at the back if we are winning.

Bold move away to Brisbane and I don't think it will happen given the trial games, but it is a possibility.

I liked adelaide’s defense last night.
Sfc progress the ball to the front third ........... everybody behind the ball. A red wall that didn’t look like conceding.
When adelaide get kitto and mileunsic back they will be hard to hold even without their marquee diawarra.

We can do the same and be even a bigger threat on the break.

Sfc’s defensive tactics haven’t changed .......... break up any dangerous attack with a professional foul. At least the referee recognised the shit and rewarded them with four yellow cards in the first half.

Supposed not to eat or drink on the pitchs. I had bourbon in a sports bottle and my mate brought munchies along. Just don't be blatant and no one will whinge about a Sarnie/Sanger.
