ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

griffiths should have been enough

they've already made clear their out there - it was dealt with on the field.

if the FFA had've taken additional action, griffiths would've been looking at the same as danny.

what isn't explained is why the referee who determined that griffiths' actions were only worth a yellow continued to wield a whistle for the rest of the season with not so much as a week off to think about his stupidity, or why with such a patently obvious error made by the match official the FFA didn't take the thatcher/mendes precedent (because it's now bending FIFA, not FFA rules we're talking about) to re-open the griffiths matter.

unfortunately none of this helps danny a jot - the rules are pretty clear.

speaking of keepers....the central coast advacado express says that the club is looking at talking to John Felin (formerly of Blackburn and Wigan) once the appeal process has been exhausted....any thoughts?

As iv stated before elsewhere, I think its a bad idea, UNLESS we sign him now, get him fit, and get a full pre season into him. He is like what, 37 I think, and been out for a year? He needs Clarky to get his ass back into shape

John Filan (born February 8, 1970 in Sydney) is an Australian football (soccer) goalkeeper.

Keepers generally get better as they get older, look at David James, he should still be Englands number 1.

He played the other night against the French. But how good would he be if he had 1 year off?

This is so off the thread topic

He'd still be better than the majority of keepers over here.

Just a thought, and perhaps a dumb one (but you get that at 11pm on a Friday night sometimes).

If the FFA resolve to sideline Danny for minimum 9 months is revolving around ensuring he gets some time off from A-League games, then why can't they juggle the timing of the suspended part of the sentence? e.g. Suspend the FIRST 6 months of the sentence (which takes him up to the start of the A-League season), sideline him for an appropriate number of rounds, and then serve the remainder of the 12 months as suspended sentence.

I just can't understand why he has to miss 9 months worth of football including Australian representation, the whole pre-season and the start of the A-League season for something as inocuous as what he did. 9 games perhaps (and that would be harsher than any other penalty I've seen handed out to anyone who has handled a ref in A-League), but 9 months????!!!! Thats enough time to conceive and give birth to a whole new Danny Vukovic for f*$k sake (no I'm not volunteering).

So if you haven't signed it yet, or if you know anyone who would be slightly interested in signing then hop on the band-wagon!!

Dunno if you thought about it, IF vukovic was to play in Olympics and did very well, a euro club might take him - if he is banned then he will play for CCM for another season
