Yeah not a bad effort considering Penanag only had twenty players for both games.

First's were ahead 4 - 1 at one stage.

good stuff - how are luddenham travelling though?

I know the boys were looking for a win in both grades against Luddenham they are in a similar position on the table,
a bit more depth in firsts would have seen them there.
Luddenham against our reserves they were older and more experienced and on average 20-25kg heavier and and up to 10cm taller, they had two blokes who were 6ft 4-5 in the old language. One of them was like Dolph Lundgren out of "rocky" and just as mean at times.
Good to see the Penang boys not being outmuscled in reserves although at times they were put in their place a pretty physical encounter.
In firsts I didn't see the whole game but Penang had got away to a good start.

Write up on first grade tussle from Football NSW website !!

" In the final match of the round, Luddenham Oval played host to a goal extravaganza, with the home side, Luddenham United, getting the points against Penang in a nine goal thriller.

Both teams went into the match without a point, nor a win, for 2008, and were both determined to kick start their season. But it was Penang that started like a house on fire, with Hoare grabbing the first goal after 7 minutes, Smith making it two on 29 minutes, and Dowzard scoring the third for the visitors 11 minutes before half time.

Ciappa finally pulled one back for Luddenham after 36 minutes, sending the home team into the break licking their wounds.

Just three minutes after the break, Smith made it 4-1 to Penang, and surely they had their first win of the season.

But Luddenham United forgot to read the script, and roared into action, with goals by Malouf (58) and Silva (78) setting up a grande finale. Nunemo scored the equalizer 5 minutes before the end, before Khatari grabbed an unlikely winner on 90 minutes to give the home side an exciting first victory of the year. "

Tim Cohen is a great player. Could play 1st team for lightning easy, dont know why he has not tried there.

Yeah now you mention it, he is more concerned with getting pissed and acting like a hard c**t than training and using the skills he obviously has to better himself. Still, he has plenty of skill and is still young enough to do something with it, if he was not so concerned with impressing his buddys.

Just Signed up... and read all of the posted comments.
where to begin.
-Kareem you are such a hot head. Big mouth for a shocking player.
-Tim Cohen could not play Lightning, he is a very average player.
-Keensy dousnt seem to realise that a club can not be sucsessful over 1 season. Give Penang F.C a few years and they will be a real team to look out for.

Welcome to the forum.
I agree with your 1st comment 100%
Tim though, I believe, is a little better than a "average player". Yeah ok, thinking about it, he probably could not just walk into lightning, but if he changed his attitude (his main problem) he could be great
And I also agree, if the team can keep building and growing, they could be a force in a few years

10 goals - at least you get value at Kariong! :)  A point to the U20s too!

And I just have to gloat over Bathurst 75 winning again. 5 goals to Garrett after 3 last week! Woowoo!

Eugene Forsberg, id assume its his brother as Xaviers Father is up there every week.

The low squad number showed on saturday as you had blokes playing full game in ressies or the majority, then having to start 1sts aswell due to a lack of numbers. This lead to both teams struggling late in the matches

Ressies were up 2-1 and conceded with about 30seconds to go to drop 2 points.
1sts again were in the match until the last 5-10mins when it was only 3-2, but then conceded 4 quick goals, then snatching one back with the last kick of the game.

Eugene is Xavier's brother and a terrific player to boot.

Spot on there Keensy four or so blokes out with injury on saturday didn't help, which has been the story most of the season - Springwood coach congratulated the reserves on how they played as well.

Bit more depth is required for both squads then we'll see some good result's, let's see the coast get behind Penang.

QFT, Eugene is quality. Although he needs to be at CB not in CM like saturday. The backs have not been crash hot, but taking him out does not help.

Will be there again next saturday, somewhere to go and drink beer and watch mates play.
