ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

So, question, is there no legal way that Pikey can be forced to spend all the cap on the team ?…like can Paramount demand he do it or something ?
There wasn't as the cap had a base. Now who knows. There may be some pressure from the rest of investors to produce a better product.

What's that got to do with being forced to spend the cap?
A lot - when your getting multiple spoons it is a very valid argument. But now the argument would fall flat.

But tbh with the breaking news of $100m in investment in the APL (not confirmed) and if CCMFC get management rights in the next fortnight you would think the value of the license would go up considerably and MC may well get the price he is after.

... It’s possible frugal MC will become a very rich man, & hey, more power to Scrooge McDuck. Also, the local council are millions of dollars in debt, which is still under investigation. This might end up being be a marriage of convenience.

One swallow does not a summer make. That argument is alive and well.

It probably should be - but it is a case of the exception proves the rule. MC can point to the relative success this year and question why bigger spending clubs finished below us. We probably spent the least and the only two clubs that finished above us probably spent the most. That leaves 9 clubs who spent more than us that need to explain why they couldn't beat the least resourced club in the APL.

Interesting. He tends to blow hot and cold, then there's been seasons where he just blowed. I think Kye covers up a lot of his mistakes and we've definitely leaked some goals through him.

On the flipside his crossing can be very good and he's decent going forward. Starting to slow up though as he gets older.

The first part was legit.

The 2nd part was Dobbie dribble.......Clisby is as lean and fit as a fiddle. His workrate was probably unparrelled in the league.

There's so many mitigating factors regarding this year that fly in the face of spend and resources. Next year (along with the extra 600 odd grand) will be more (not that much though because borders/covid) of a leveller.

This. Last season was an anomaly, Covid, lower salary cap, difficulty in recruiting and scouting imports, interstate travel issues, lockdowns. All those worked in our favour on the Central Coast. Should have probably worked in Newcastle’s favour as well but they were an absolute clusterf**k.
