I would say he should be taking the 2nd reasonable striker pay packet (which is also where Simon should be if he stays on) rather than the gun one. Brisbane let him go, jets let him go - we shouldn't be suckered in to offering top dollar.

He might not have a lot of options. I can't see him being anyone's first choice striker after the jets cut him loose and age catches everyone sooner or later.

But I would also be looking at shaping our tactics around our strengths and would give serious consideration to playing 3 centre backs next season.
If we did that, then I would not be opposed to Roux (if he was at his best and at the right price) in a wing back role.

We have Matt Hatch, Lewis Miller and Stefan Nigro in that position and others coming through from the academy that we could probably invest more in other areas, including contract upgrades. I imagine both Rowles and Tongyik will be earning more.
