Good luck to Muz. I wish him well - always put in 100%. I would have liked to have seen him in a more successful team because I don't think we saw the best of him. Plus we got a fee of some sort.
Agreed ...as much as I liked Muzz! It always had me stumped how he went from golden boot to scared to shoot (sometimes)...didn’t help him being in a shit team and played out of possie I suppose ..ANYWAY upwards and onwards son

We rarely provided good service so I could see how one could psych themselves out knowing they have to make the most of the few they get. Plus the general level of defenders would be higher, you're rarely getting that confidence boost from playing a low NPL / high NPL2 level side.

I love the Muzz and think he would be a better wide player at ALeague level, as effective as Barbarousis. I still remember the gem of a cross he fed Duric for the first goal he scored for the club. Towards the latter half of the season he appeared to lose confidence, as many others said passing when he should shoot.

When DRD scored those two against Victory my immediate thought was Muzz wouldn't have got them in his frame of mind.

It can be as simple as your team. I had a mate who represented the ACT as a striker from u14s to u18s. ACT weren't very good and each year he hoped to just bag one or two vs NT/Tas. In u18s they made a rule that the AIS lads had to play for ACT, suddenly he had the likes of Paul Trimboli feeding him and he ended up in the top 3 the for goals scored and made the Australian schoolboys team. Never got a look in before that.

Anyways, all the best to Muzz, always gave his all.

Anyone know if we're taking to Irvine? Good to be talking football again

I'd expect a few Australian clubs are quite keen to get him but whether the money is right and he's willing to come back might be another thing. COVID just complicates things further as he may be less willing to come over if he can even get a flight, quarantine for 2 weeks then potentially head back to Europe when an opportunity comes up. He might prefer to hang around where he is an do some trials/networking with an eye on the Jan window or if an injury replacement is needed?

I'm expecting an excellent ex Socceroo to be playing for us next season and related to that news i'm expecting the wonderful news about our own Mike Ashley clone...(or clown).
For those of us not putting gossip or clues together anything more specific about this ex Socceroo? I don’t want to get my hopes up because our last ex national team signing was a bit meh. Would have loved us to get Leckie but probably out of reach and working his way back in at his current club.

Pignata has commented the minimum squad size is 18 now and that’s what they’ll run. I’d expect we’ll run pretty close to that number too.

We have been linked to him already.

A line has been drawn under a marathon A-League season and, for the first time ever, 12 teams are preparing for a new chapter of history.
Three-hundred and twenty-four days separated the 2019/20 Season opener from Sydney FC being crowned A-League 2020 Champions, following a 1-0 extra-time win against Melbourne City in unique circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic that turned the competition, and the world, upside down.
For the 11 clubs that competed, it’s back to the drawing board to prepare for the 16th A-League season. For one brand new team, Macarthur FC, it’s the opportunity to announce themselves to the football world.
Months before the Sky Blues lifted that coveted title at Bankwest Stadium, every club began assembling their rosters for the 2020/21 season and, if you have missed any moves, now is the time to catch up.
Players not mentioned in this list may be in renewal negotiations.
