As i said in another thread, an hour before our game on the weekend our left back decided he no longer wants to play soccer. It's a bloody shame too as he was a talented defender with a great work load.  :(

But we do have some good news finally and that is one of our strikers who has been out with due to injury (Azza on these forums) has been cleared to return to the game beginning of June. The tibia fracture has healed better than expected and he will spend the next few weeks building the muscles back up and regaining match fitness.

This is fantastic news for the team and a great outcome for him...

got that win up yet ted ?? must be on its way mate

lol nah no win yet unfortunately. Nothing like giving the other teams a decent head start, haha :p

Nah a win has to come our way soon or later I guess (sooner the better though). We finally had a decent training session with our new players tonight. We had a chance to 'get to know each other' and this should help us gel on the field. I have also had to reposition the team to strengthen weak spots in our defence... Hopefully I've found a winning combo...

PLAYER/INJURY UPDATE:

Right Back (knee recon - out for season)
Striker (ankle fracture due back 1st week of June)
Midfielder (2 more weeks recovering from appendectomy)
Midfielder (2 weeks with a hammy strain)
Left back (no longer part of the team)

Borrowing from the 14Ds for todays game against Toukley and luckily we have a bye next week so we may be up to strength for 9th round game against Umina....

Poor left back he must be tired of losing compared to being Unbeaten for the whole of last year.

Nothing 'poor' about it really. He only adds salt to the festering wound with his decision and for someone who rarely attended training, he is also partly to blame anyway (even if he played well). So what if we are losing games? Someone has to lose and the reason for our continual run of losses is rather obvious. We either play games down on numbers like we did against you or borrow from a lower grade/division. Borrowing players to make up a team has not helped us at all to be honest, as the borrowed players are usually forced to play in a different position (or lack the required skill) than they are comfortable with and this also detracts from thier performance and our ability to play as a solid team.

1. East Gosford - borrowed 2 players from 13As (lost 1-4)

2. Kariong - played with only 9 (nil all at half time, lost 10-0)

3. Ourimbah (washout - to be replayed)

4. Kanwal (washout)

5. Doyalson - borrowed 4 players from 13Ds (lost 0-8)

6. Berkeley - played with 10 (up 2-1 half time, lost 4-3)

7. Toukley - borrowed 2 players from the 14Ds (lost 5-1)

8. Bye - time to recover

We seem to play better when down on numbers than when we borrow but this leaves us with only one striker and even though the opportunites are presented, it is hard to capitalize on them with 2 or 3 defenders marking up. Fatigue ends up being our enemy though.

I have already stated that we lost several 'prominent' players to either rep sides or to other sports altogether from last year's team. Then when you add all the injuries we have had its easy to see why we have suffered so many losses.

Our next game (round 9) against Umina should be much different with all injured players back on board. Hopefully we can turn our season around from this point on. If not then so be it and I look forward to a better season next year relegated to C grade...

Not sure as we still dont have the complete draw and are only informed each week as to where we are playing... Most likely be at home though I'd say.

Yea thats what the berekely coach said when he was asked why he moved up with us to B's because he said he knew his team was gonna lose and said his team would learn to lose in pride and then they would blitz it from there.

Not exactly sure what your point is with your reply and how it concerns our situation?

lol, pep talks mean shit when you only have 9 or 10 players available each week and are forced to 'borrow' or play without. Funny thing is your only loss this year was when you were down on numbers.  We have been that way every game so far this season. Coincidence?

As Azza mentioned in the round nine thread we had our first training session with a full team tonight. All 13 players were present and accounted for and it was great to finally train the full ensemble. The return of vital players has added a much needed boost to the teams morale and the overall enthusiasm to get out there and turn our season around was bloody awesome...  Heres hoping we can snag a decent run of wins back to back and turn our season around.

Nah mate only 14Bs and 14Ds. Hence the dual registering of 3 x W14As to boost our numbers. Our team is made up of a mixture of A grade players with a few B graders and a few C graders in there. So we have the talent....

Yeah we train on one half of the junior fields on Tues and then at Jubilee on Thurs. Hard to claim your turf at Jubilee with only one field marked out though.
