ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think city’s home game had around 2500 by memory? You’d think at this rate we will get past that.. I know it’s a long shot but if we beat city and get a better home crowd than city does that mean we get a hole ffa cup final? Huge if we do.

There is a good chance that if we get a good crowd number then we will get hosting rights. However it’s not as simple as just beating city’s last home figure - we need to blow them out of the water.

If we make it through and have a decent crowd on Wednesday the FFA would be mental not to give it to us. No doubt Melbourne crowds could be larger on a given night but making the final and having it at home would be the best pre season boost the club could get. It doesnt mean as much to city, theyve been playing finals but we've been in the dumpster and havent had much meaningful football in years.

The PAX numbers are confusing.

I bought mine at the Stadium and i presume others bought online.

Me yesterday lunch 1998.
Pete P reported 1300 and the end of the day.
Mick reports 3809 this morning.
Pirate reported 1513 at lunch today.

Can anyone explain the discrepancies please?

I'm really hoping Mick's ticket number is correct.

I am still gonna convince a few more to come along.

My 1300 was the actual number of tickets sold as of yesterday, according to the club - not PAX number.
Purchased my ticket just now, PAX number 1910.
PAX numbers are not always a reliable indicator of actual sales unfortunately.

Convince as many as you can to get there though, like I said we need as many there as possible to get the bast chance of hosting the final when we get through!!

Nice work!

I bought several extras in the hope I can still get a posse going. Slowly getting there. Be great to have a good turn out.

But now to football...

Pic specials I usually couldn’t give a toss about. But they clearly look the fittest they’ve been since Clarkey, and I reckon you can see the intensity in their concentration that having something to play for brings. (And a good coach)

Attack attack attack... err, I want to be positive for our lead in and I’m looking forward to the game, so I’m just gonna move along. Though I am happy they’re talking about combinations.

As to the headline that’s sneakily masquerading as a quote: ‘we’re not too concerned about the reds’

As opposed to the stock standard actual quote:
‘"We’re not too concerned about how they’re playing, we’re just concerned about ourselves,"

Lol, that so many news outlets have forgotten how to ask questions that illicit genuinely compelling news, so will just grab something benign, get rid of context and technically not misquote, but for all intent, actually misquote a player, just to try and attract a few more trolls and hopefully start some inter webs wars that will bring more time on site, is just tragic. What an age. Plenty of great things. But truly shit era for journalism.

But truly shit era for journalism.
The era of clickbait. Imagine going to university to write Married at First sight recaps or report on whoever trump has offended on twitter. In my industry the equivalent would be spending all day removing malware accumulated by teenagers looking for porn or seniors who let ‘Telstra support’ fix their problems remotely.

I know someone whose job is maximising the marketing value of ‘the space’ between text and images.

All so they can squeeze in more of those Trump click bait articles you love

Got a phone call from the club earlier saying they are hosting an “old boys” lounge at the game on Wednesday night. $80 and will have some ex players & a distinguished ex coach. Sounded good so I got a ticket, did anyone else get a ticket for this? Dan said you can call the club to organise and they will refund your current GA/Navy ticket if you want to go in the lounge.
