ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Pretty weak piece of Journalism. And then throws up Hutcho, so far a failure in both of this assistant Coaching role, as some sort of solution.

The only solution is to fund the team properly and not go into a season with 5 problem areas.

1. No starting 11 keeper.
2. No specialist RB.
3. No experienced quality CB (and still fast enough)
4. No 10.
5. No Main Striker....well we had a loanee and let him leave.

Agree 100% watch them run, they are clearly unfit.
Hoole is the worst example closely followed by Oar and Judas
Static stretching inside an hour to play (debunked for at least 10years), do some dynamic stretching then go kick around in a square twice size of what victory were doing then do some 80% run throughs. Like complete amateur hour.

And no S&C till round 13.
In fact I watched the warmup and I don't even rate what they're doing with one.
I still like this is the single biggest failing of the club this year. Despite our repeated incompetence at roster management, this ranks above it for me.

How MM didn't think this was a priority is unforgivable. How the club allowed MM to not think the team needed a fitness coach is ridiculous.

IMO while we were never looking well, the last, say, 6 games have shown we are able to make a stand against almost any team out there - but we don't have the fitness to hold it. That one thing more than any has destroyed our season.

I mean, yes, part of the issue with holding a lead is that we get so terrified of losing it you can watch us crumble, but fitness is also a bit part of that. Low fitness, mistakes are made, attackers get away from defenders, etc etc.

Severe lack of pragmatism and poor coaching is costing us games:

- We play an up tempo pressing game yet we don't have the fitness to execute it for ninety minutes.
- Our substitutions are reactive not proactive. They often too late when the opposition has already swung the game in their favour and have momentum.
- We still play an expansive game when in the lead. We do not know how to stifle games, slow down play, niggle etc.
- We continue to play three at the back when the opposition have obviously changed tactics and have pushed more players forward.

Fark me, every nupty here (including me) can see all of this. Why can't they? All four points above lay squarely on the coaches' shoulders.

. to be fair he did bring one in, but he then ran away

. the Club was then forced to put in place some temporary (and inadequate) 'solutions' before a permanent replacement could be found

. don't get me wrong, it's clearly unacceptable i just wanted to clarify that it wasn't entirely neglected

Charlesworth clearing the decks is starting to look terminal. He has gutted the club too deeply and the wheels are falling off

I think the bigger issue is they've tried to rebuild without a significant investment. It seems we're overpaying some players now anyway so rather than paying overs for every half decent player they should focus on a few key players that show intent to compete. It might cost a bit more in the short term but will pay off both in player retention and in the stands. Sign a solid experienced CB to partner aspro and rowles, new keeper, resign Tom H, find the like for like replacement we were supposed to get for Ross - and do those things early rather than late so we can build a team around them. Throwing inflated wages at the likes of Simon, Mcglinchey, Hoole and even a big offer we were going to make for Millar doesn't seem like the best use of our limited funds IMO. Create a solid spine and work out which youth/npl prospects you want to fill in the gaps or add depth.
