Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That's pretty good. Gotta give it to the Victorians for sport, and especially the Victory supporters, having a horrible season and still averaging 26+ thousand.

we've done spectacularly on the back of blockbusters - even before the blockbusters we had 6% growth, now it's at 26% with big games to come. if we keep them coming (2 more 17000 crowds), we're looking at maybe more than 35% growth this year.

i reckon that'd have the club just about breaking even after only 3 seasons, or better-than-my-wildest-dreams kinda territory.

Bet the NRL are happy with how the HAL has gone on the Coast. This was their market for the taking and they bottled it. Stupid knuckledraggers.

Playing a few games in the regular season is the best they can do.

You can see why the ARC was canned too - lol

lets hope we can keep the averages on the up next season aswell.

if the average gets up around 13000 (as it looks like it should), then similar growth again would have us averaging around 18k (and probably asking for a stadium upgrade).

2nd tier and a roof please Santa

no bar? give yourself an uppercut son!

Uppercut duly meted out.

ps - Is it my addled brain or was behind the goals alcohol free in V1 (or for a while).

Your addled brain as the bay has never been dry.

The North west corner i believe may of been/is a dry area.

If we were to average closer to 18, I would expect that an expansion would be forthcoming. But we are not there yet. A 2nd tier home end, with 2 bars, and a roof...sounds almost too good.

they're some seriously good numbers for season 3, considering the original plan was to get an average of 10,000 through the gate. only one club has failed to do that, and they've come 6th, 7th and 8th in successive seasons so no surprises there. melbourne's numbers are great but even if you take them out, the average of nearly 12500 is pretty solid.

aside from the obvious success of wellington (11683 beats the hell out of 3000 or so), the central coast and newcastle are driving much of the growth, both up hard on last years numbers - the jets by 1467 or 13% and us by 2459 or 25%. that follows growth of 28% and 24% last year - the littlest teams are pushing some big numbers around!

Good to see the A-League pretty much taking over the NRL on these stats. Victory doing well but I'd like to see them pushing up into the middle of the AFL teams there, and go for 30-35k average.

This table also proves that Victorians do love their sport, but not just any old shit, *cough* Melbourne Storm *cough* 2007 Premiers *cough* average crowd 11,705.

made all the more remarkable when you consider the NRL's MASSIVE advertising budget, general media bias with far more media coverage, imagine if we had the sort of exposure they have been enjoying... the a-league has done so much better than i ever thought possible being an old northern spirit fan and getting excited when 4,000 people rocked up to a game... Those stats show AFL is first daylight then NRL and us, with a few more teams and extra derbies we could compete with the NRL on averages albeit relying on Melbourne to continue pulling big crowds to lift our crowd averages in the same way that the Broncos are doing for the NRL

I remember posting in the old forum in the early days and we were taking about our crowd base of 5500 people. Its amazing how it has changed.

I am not sure how we should read into things after the sydney and melbourne games. xmas holiday period and all, i'll be interested to see how the crowds play out in our remaining games

take the measure from our worst crowd of the year -

season 1 - 5194
season 2 - 4644 (granted, there'd been a monsoon)
season 3 - 8113

i think that's a really good indication of our base.

It's possible we can see the highest aggregate attendance in history this weekend, although I think it will just fall short.

Tards-Sheep Shaggers, 25,000 (tards fans will still think they can make the four)
Mariners-Scum, 17,000
Qld-Flying Circus, 30,000 (could even be more, the rednecks consider this the biggest game of the season even without it being so important)
Perth-Adelaide, 6,000 (unfortunately Perth are at home).

This would be a total of 78,000. Mssive round coming up boys and girls.

No, so far it is on track for the highest:
Melbourne -  25,489
Us - 19,238
Roar - ?
Glory - ?

BTW our season total is 117,718 over 9 home games so far - average of 13,080

Great photos - never dreamed I'd see that when I watched the boys in a training match around 3 years ago in front of maybe 20 people that we would get to this stage. Onwards and upwards!!!
