ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

They used to get 5000-6000 from memory but I am shocked at how poor their crowds are. Why didn't they locate them in the Western Suburbs to start with??

At the end we were averaging 7500 (8500 if you include derbies). The problem with Melbourne is that there isn't too natural of a geographical divide like Sydney has. The closest thing we have to something like that is the South Eastern or Northern suburbs. We also lack any major stadia outside the CBD (with the exception being Lakeside Stadium but South Melbourne have a hundred year exclusive lease on it). Heart definitely struggled at times to pull a crowd, but if we had been successful I have no doubt we would have pulled much bigger crowds than City are now.

I'm watching with interest how a lot of teams rebuild this year, Roar have said good bye to a lot of young talent so not sure an investment in FBK is all that positive. An old guy doesn't quite fill the void of the good young talent leaving the club (up front). One positive though it would be nice to beat the Roar occasionally, history shows fluctuations in fortune always happen so about time we had it over the Roar. Still rate FBK but he has one maybe two years (substitute) left in him.

I was sad to see Heart go.
Having known Matt Thompson through the youth league Heart were my second team.
The up-side though was you following the MARINERS.
You`ve been a fantastic contributor to this forum JP I hope you can get up here for a few games in the coming season.

Haha thanks Style, I should hopefully be heading up for my first home game (excluding that weird game in Geelong!) with my girlfriend (also a one eyed Mariner) depending of course on successful broke student saving. I can't wait and it would be awesome to meet people from the forum as it's always a highlight of my day to come on here and read what everyone thinks.

Personally thought Khalfallah was a better player but I guess Kosta's Australian citizenship makes him more worth while for the Victory, especially with the ACL coming up.

Dimi back to the Jets official as well
Ulsan seemed to work out within a week that he wasn't worth it, was barely even getting a game when they played in the ACL so he seemed a weird signing. I'm surprised Merrick went for him as he doesn't seem his sort of player. The Jets have a sort of mismatched squad so it will be interesting to see what game plan they go for.
