ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

This is a total crock. There's no way he could be worse than Siep or Arsedribble. If he is we're in big trouble.
Sam Graham? who was touted by Monty as being better than any player the same age in Australia and after flopping at CCM is now playing in the 5th tier of English football at Notts County. Richard Vernes? In fact Jankovic has a similar pedigree and is playing at a similar level to Vernes (in Serbia rather than Hungary). Both started at the youth academy of leading clubs, representing their country at youth level and then moving on to lower tier clubs to break in to the first team. The club he was at in Serbia is playing in the 3rd tier which isn't much different to our NPL1 or 2 (according to Joey Jevtic who is playing there and to other Serbian contacts who are familiar with the club and the league). I hope he turns out to be better than both of them (and all of the other flops like Siep, Mane, Asdrubal etc) - I would be ecstatic to have my fears and doubts dispelled and see him succeed for us.

It's genuinely hard to know how a player like this will go in the A-League. Playing a different style/tempo, in Australian conditions is a major first up difference.

It could go either way. Proven players have flopped before, and players that haven't hit any massive heights previously can become Berisha.

Happy to wait and see before being concerned.

It is a gamble and it is using a visa spot. However, I can't believe that we are gambling a lot of money on him.

The other two visa players look quality so a small gamble on the third where someone has spotted something that may or may not pan out is quite acceptable to me. He may be the very good player that the rest of his team just don't get or he could be a dud.

Worst visa signing in a-league history is a stretch. Plenty of worthy contenders... Steve McMahon and Brian Deane kicked it all off. Then any visa signing ever made by the Knights. Jardel...

I think you will find it was Mulvey who made the claims about Graham not Monty. Besides, Nick has more class than to diss young Aussie talent, just look at how our youth boys are going under him.

I don't know that Monty ever said that about Graham but at 18yo he was not ready for first team Football. Playing for Notts County is not far from our level. Remember non league English players have come to Australia and shone, Awaritefe even played for the Socceroos.

Vernes had some talent but was a bit soft.

Serbian Football is not bad and 3rd tier would i'm sure be above NPL1 or 2.
Mane was a winger played up front by a clueless Moss.

I prefer it when you stick to facts rather than grind your axe.

I see you’ve all neglected to mention Yongbin Chen, a Chinese player at Adelaide last season that afaik never made the match day squad nor ever had the resume to justify a visa signing. Looked a lot like buying a visa and professional football training.
