With Fabio, we already know what he can and cant do.

I'd rather wait till January transfer window to make a decision on filling that last visa spot & play wait'n'see with regards to Asdrúbal.

If he or the other attacking players aren't producing plentuful goals, then we'll need that spot for an absolute 'proven' striker who's coming to us with form.

Ferreira doesnt fulfil that requirement of a 'proven goal-scorer'

Not sure I agree with that. I think he would be fantastic in this team. Last year was a lost player but was still our second highest scorer playing out of position and came good at the end. Blew a penalty as well. Was still more effective than Pain.

Fab and Hoole on the wings is definitely better or Fab first sub at a tired defence is way better than Trent or Appiah.

The picture would have been better if was in uniform. Might be up to try get some training, that's not unusual.

Did he end up getting his citizenship before he left? I thought there was talk about getting it and coming back to oz in January. Can't remember.

I'd give him the last spot if was Aussie as can push someone out in January if we need a better striker or CB. If is still foreigner then a temporary contract to see what we need in January.. Prove his worth or let him move if gets a job, elsewhere

He'd want the same $$$'s if not more !
-so therefore club budget & more importantly cap wise I think his boats sailed (unless he's prepared for a major pay cut + has his citizenship sorted)

Compared to Budgie, Kwabs & Pain .. who are all younger, cheaper & importantly 'on the rise' as Okon stated and intends to develop per the club mantra.

Budgie in particular as he's on a 3yr deal, coupled with sitting behind Okon during pre-season games & listening/noticing that Paolo talks to Kwabs more than any of the other players with direction in defence and encouragement leads me to think he is more than happy with the kid.

A major surprise to me :-| as I think Budgie (in time) will become the better player if given the same attention.
- perhaps
Okon is playing the 'long-game' with both these kids, which I'm more than happy to witness than a return of Fab at their expense
..... unless ... (the above x2 criteria is met)
;)

Someone like Fab would give us another creative option......really if DDS or Asdrubal get injured we don't have alot of creativity up front. We are short in that area, not on speedy wingers but someone who can create and/or score a few goals.
Not sure how it would work, if we could get a loan deal or even if it's been considered at all.

Money. Agree. We don't spend but what are his options?

Definitely would score more than all 3 which we need.

Would he defend? Well he never has and is prone to a sulk.

Budgie has a hell of alot of improving to do IMO. If he can than yes a better investment.

Totally agree Appiah is liked by Okon and now the fans. We all love a player who fights hard, especially not the most gifted people. They make us frustrated at the gifted ones. He has offered the team alot under Okon. His defence is an important factor and has him in front of Trent. A little maturity maybe part of that as he realises he needs to add more to the team now he has had his chances. He plays like a bloke on his last chance and won't give it up easily.

Pain has been very unproductive and needs to take a big step as well.

If we want to win, Fab over them would achieve that IMO

I love fab and was devo way back when we were the first Aleague club to trial him that we didn't get him. But. Let's not forget that Asdrubal also plays wide. If we did bring a striker in jan then it wouldn't necessarily be an either or.

"Baro is one of several new faces on the Hawkesbury, "

Seb Hassett ..... you're a dick.
And his geographically f**ked in the head as well, the stadium ain’t on the banks of the Hawkesbury, maybe we should twitter bomb him until he gets it through his thicker than average skull

I actually think Glover had a pretty decent game - there's just not a lot you can do when you sit behind what he sat behind... Apart from the multiple reaction save clip that they put up on the page, I think it was the fourth goal - went across the goal, I actually thought his positioning was excellent, he did well to get as close to a save as he did.

The upshot is that I fear that we'll be starting Kennedy in goals next weekend and I sort of understand why you don't want to be starting a keeper who has let in 5 in a game, but I also am not sure that it's the way to go.

I wouldn't drop Glover. At least 4 of those goal were unstoppable. They were very good quality goals. I'd give him another go. It was his first game with a decent crowd and with pressure. He'll get better if Paulo puts his trust in him.
