I think Roy could have got those extra shots with this team.

However our real week point was Roy scored 10+ goals but go no help.
Pain Trent and kabs didn't fire consistently. They'd score two in two/three weeks then never again and Fab was horrible for the first two thirds of the season then finally started scoring but was to late.

This is where Hoole and DDS need to improve our squad. We need goals and assists from the whole of the front section consistently.

Hopefully DDS as a true 10 opens the field allowing us to use the middle and the wings. DDS right from the start gives us a leg up over Powell trying to convert and then Fab trying to convert.

Need 5 goals and 5 assists from DDS as a minimum and smilar from Hoole and Pain.

This can happen with a good striker

Birighitti is a top quality keeper in my opinion. We should sign him if he's available.

Given that they both have a long history at Newcastle their statistics can be compared.

Mark and Ben both have the same HAL goals conceded per game percentage. Ben has played all his games at Newcastle, Mark all but 5 at Newcastle. However, Ben has a clean sheet every 4 games, Mark with a clean sheet every 5 games.

I think we need better, or the potential to be better than either. Both are solid HAL keepers. Mark is uninjured, Ben is still limping. Adam is not ready.

I think Kennedy played in a much stronger team than Mark so those statistics don't tell the real story.
Also I think Mark was HAL goalkeeper of the year from memory.
He has also played for the Socceroos once and Australian u20 and u23.
He is also tough. He got his teeth kicked out and bounced back immediately.
I don't think there is much better than Birighitti to be honest.

I would settle for a decent No.1 right about now let alone. A No.2 tbh. Marques saved a pen last night, which was good to see.

But he also made a fatal error causing the Mounties first goal. Taking a free kick a long way to the left of his box. He tried to play out from the back instead of going long. We lost the ball and he was nowhere to be seen as the ball flew into an empty net.

That was the day my grandson walked out with the players, holding Birighitti's hand. We still reckon he tied the guy's laces together.

Agree totally. I just thought with the guys he's been #2 to he'd be alot better than he is/was

I wonder whether a cheeky loan bid for Apostolos Giannou would be worth a shot. Seems to be on the outer at Guangzhou R&F, not even making the match day squad, though contracted for another 18 months. At 27 he has a shot of making the World Cup squad, but only if he is playing.

Not sure I've seen enough of him to comment adequately, looks to be another victim of the foreign player changes in China.
