If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Great game. I would be amazed if anyone walked away from that one not entertained and not wanting to come back. Not a bad player on the park and think TW got the starting side spot on. Very happy with Mitch Austin, he was better than i was expecting. Some great crosses and was beating players at ease in the 2nd half. Also great to see young Micky Neill back, i think he's outstanding and will be a future Socceroo if he stays fit. McGing look a natural, very composed. For me though Monty was the MOTM, lead the side all game until he went off. Caceres a close second......with Fab a third.
Monty -3
Caceres - 2
Fab - 1

Roux letting someone behind him have a free header was the main issue for me.
happened time and again last year . adelaide game was appalling .
it's the same.the ball is at our our left edge and the right edge defender on the penalty spot .
it's school kid stuff . mark your man

well I finished watching the replay.
that was marvellous . my real concern was posco's hammie .
the whole team seemed to have an extra yard of pace . which is gunna
be needed as teams will play a fast counter game against us .

. it is funny how sometimes what we see (or don't) is influenced by the comments of those around us

... but one thing that caught my eye was late in the game. we had just defended a corner and roy absolutely busted a gut to get up into the attacking half - once he had the ball and realised he was alone towards the sideline he held up the play in a safe upfield position ... very clever

forgive me if my memory is playing tricks on me

I liked roys work . what really impressed me was monty giving roy the captains arm band , when he went off.
that speaks well for a guy that's only been here 3 or so months .

"Showtime in Gosford = exciting times ahead for Mariners fans
All off-season, Central Coast boss Tony Walmsley promised a more proactive, attacking Mariners outfit for 2015/16. And they delivered on that vow against Glory. The Mariners were arguably the best performed side of the opening weekend, exposing Perth with their vibrant, pacy and high-pressing style.
No wonder Mariners fans were dancing out of Central Coast Stadium on Saturday night. Mitch Austin looks a real prospect on the left, Anthony Caceres looks like living up to his potential while Fabio Ferreira’s speed and flair on the right wing was a real feature.
If they can keep this going all season, it’s going to be fun to watch the Mariners."

On the plus side with the crowd:

Taking out things like derbies, 'event' games like NYE, games at irregular venues etc.:
  • Our long term average at home is 7,949
  • Our long term October average is 8,146
  • Our long term Saturday average is 8,249
  • Our long term average against Perth is 7,603
We're right on what we ought to have been. Given the season we had last year, that's a good result.
What about 5ísh pm games?

I think Austin would wish he could play against Risdon every week!!
compared to golec or thwaite ? I thought as I sat down to watch the game . their defence on paper looked pretty solid .
their midfield caused more problems for them than us . their a rabble and spoon favourites in my opinion .

Agree, Josh Rose has a weakness here as well, when SFC touched us up last season at home their 1st 2 goals were from crosses to the far post, Rose and Posco were both caught out. The defence naturally compresses as the bigger threat is in the middle, if the midfielder isnt there to assist then it can leave a free man with the right delivery. Garcia had moved from the right to their left flank and from that distance most times a header would be saved, it was a great finish. Likely to be a few more of these this season given that Austin and Fab dont track back under the new system.

how did castro get a point ffs .
I dont think any PG player deserved points. Castro had a much better 2nd half and seemed to play more on the right but he missed a sitter in the 78th minute. Given our attacking intent, fatigue and loss of shape after Monty and Posco went off, he found a lot of space in midfield and should have been much better. Even the FFA match report said he was disappointing.

My GOD I want to see the boys touch up Arnie's smurfs on the 31st... I don't think I realised till just now, just how much I want that to be a win, preferably a good thrashing too...
I don't know how much confidence I have yet though, we'll see how the boys go over the next couple of weeks, but they better bl**dy win!

WOW and double WOW ... enjoyed the game sorry I am a bit late in posting She who must be obeyed is recovering from a knee replacement and some other surgery ... meaning poor old Middy is a busy boy...

Was blow away with Caceres if he plays like that every week he will become our next Socceroo IMO by a fair distance the best on park.. He was very well supported with Monty doing the heavy work behind him and doing more than his share of defence ... the our wide mids Fab and Austin both ran their arse's off for Caceres as well meaning he always had options ..

If you held me against a wall and said what's the one thing different this year to last and for me anyway it's the off the ball movement which I guess also reflects player moral and attitude...

Austin is a big boy and he looks very strong with a good pass he could be a real find... hard to say after one game...

Big call if Caceres plays all season the way he did and Monty has the energy to run all day and fix up the little errors we could .. dare I say it .... we could finish in the top 3 ...

Caceres - 3
Monty - 2
Fav - 1

Was interesting bench with two defenders (Ashcroft and Bosnar) and only kalik as attacker. But in the end we needed them so worked well.

Heffernan should easily make the bench when registered

Ok I was surprised to find out Heffernan isn`t registered on Saturday but didn`t we sign him a month ago?
So what`s the hold up?
Why is it taking so long?

Ben Buckley....still a cnut.

Only joking......seams crazy but as usual someone at the Mariners didn't take care of the small details.

Some governments that ran Australia over the last decade got all twitchy about rednecks fear of the other .. and tightened up visa requirements. It is not a routine task anymore for fringe players, nor always successful.
