The only argument aaginst big Pat is that this is his final year, hence we will end up with three captains in three years.

If planning for the future, and building consistency into the equation, I'd nominate Rose. He isn't loud or charismatic, but then neither was Wilko.

Dutchy is the obvious choice and if you have ever seen them in a group situation you would assume he was already the capt. A natural leader.

Olly should be considered in a year or two. Rose is not a capt imho.

For mine I think Olly is far too inconsistant at this stage of his career & doesn`t need the extra burden of the captaincy.
His form for the Ollyroos was far from impressive & he doesn`t have the respect of the players to the level that Dutchy has.
Dutchy`s experience,mental toughness & drive all point to him getting the armband.

This makes the most sense to me, maybe grooming Olly to take over when Dutchy moves into coaching

I like Hutcho, a decent and well deserved choice, my only concern is will he always start? He was kind of a utility player last season and didn't have a cemented, near indisputable position. Hard gig for a captain...

Yeah that's right. You can;t be peripheral, and if Arnie has stated he is looking for a starting DM for us, then that means Hutch is competing for LM with Olly and or coming off the bench.

Arnie said he was not in a hurry to name the new captain but that it would be a senior player. IMO the only two senior players that will be guaranteed game time would be Dutchy and Sterj. I can't see it going to Sterj as he has only just arrived so to my mind it must be Dutchy.
