ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He had his chance and turned it down for want of money. The one thing he didn’t want for...

His fairytale didn’t work out, but it turned out to be a solid little morality tale.

I still can't help but think he wasn't prepared to do some time in NYL and that was a bit of a deal breaker for both sides. We couldn't afford to carry him without some sort of match fitness and more improvement and he wasn't prepared to risk being shown up in a youth league or have his story played out infront of a small crowd and mobiles rather than thousands in a broadcast league. Funny thing is we were so bad up front the season before he might have actually made the squad.

McCormack's honest Bolt assessment
18 hours ago | 5:48 pm
Scottish striker Ross McCormack has opened up on his 'mad' experience playing football alongside Usain Bolt.

The duo crossed paths at Central Coast Mariners last year, though both have since left the club.

Now playing football back in Scotland, McCormack didn't hide away from the facts when asked about Bolt and his attempt to make it as a professional footballer.

"Obviously, he's not a footballer...still not a footballer," McCormack told BBC Scotland.

"But he tried. He had decent attributes, maybe the coaching staff didn't think enough to offer him the contract he wanted.

"He could have retired to the beach or wherever he wanted in the world. He's obviously made his money, he's very successful - just go and relax.

"But no, fair play, he wanted to try something different."

Bolt's dream is over. Surprise, surprise.

Bolt:
"I don't want to say it wasn't dealt with properly, but I think we went about it not the way we should."

Yeah , you did mate !!

If he'd simply accepted a minimum wage like any NPL player would, many would have overlooked the fact that an NPL player EARNS their minimum wage contract.

He wasn't serious about testing himself to see what he could offer in the sport.

- Coming in unfit the first indication.
- The monstrous ca$h wanted by him & his management was the proverbial straw that broke the camel.

The sad fact that CCM allegedly paid him to train with us saddens me to think we got no-where near the value we paid, other than an up-tick on social media hits.

Because at the end of the day, how did this silly foray actually generate us any money ???

If you spend a $1 hoping to make $2 BUT end up making $0 then ..... YOU FAILED, plain & simple !

With respect Rowdy, how do you know what the club did or didn't make from the whole circus?

Id argue the highest crowd we have had in some time was the local trial match. That generates ticket saels, F+B, corporate boxes etc. Potentially some Fox money for the telecast.

I wonder what that evening alone generated.

Happy one year anniversary of that messy night at Sirens and Bolty's IG story where he had red eyes.

I have a picture of Bolt with eyes like saucers on a night out in Terrigal. The Telfast was doing its job!
