ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Usain Bolt!

I'm in 2 minds...part of me still feels like an opportunity has gone begging and that if he had signed it would have lifted crowds.
But Mulvey made it pretty clear that he doesn't think Bolt will reach the required standard. So, there's that. If he reached a borderline standard then the off-field stuff he brings would, IMO, justify his signing - but not if he isn't even close.
I wonder if the club deliberately low-balled him hoping he'd move on?
A few people were worried about whether Mulvey would be forced to sign him. So, it's good to see that's not how the club operates.
As for the money.....MM said on the podcast that he's turned away prospective players who were all about the money, and players much better than bolt asking for much less money.
So I wonder if signing Bolt would have required a compromise there.

Regardless, the conversations here have helped MC to open his wallet this season - and the preseason stuff allowed us to try out the entertainment, coloured smoke, that sort of thing. So I still think it's been positive.

I can’t imagine Bolt legitimately ever breaking into our lineup. So it’s for the best. But Will miss the extra publicity - we didn’t quite get to make the most out of it which is a shame - Shaun was clearly a bit disappointed by that. But the additional dollars bolts camp wanted obviously had to come from sponsors not our kitty.

Good luck to Bolt. Great effort and out of the box initiative by the club.

Majok for the Wanderers might give Bolt some company in the trampoline stakes after his starting debut last night. Shocking first touch but good speed.

Can move the ball tho. Watched him skin georgevski and another jest player... Then took off and pow the ball came off his shin and bolted about 20m. Pun intended. He is however like 18 or so isn't he?

The more we play the more I rue this missed opportunity. Bolt would not have looked out of place in our team at all.
I recall someone saying we should sign him so if we are rubbish by January then we can give him a go and it might help crowd numbers. Unfortunately this prediction had some merit.
