ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Completely agree with your post, Ancient.
Can you fill me in on this bit though...? Appears to be a blank spot in my knowledge
It goes back to the days when Lawrie and Fergie were trying to put a team together for the Central Coast along with others in order to make a bid for a spot in the new A-League. Players from the Spirit squad were approached and committed to a future contract on a handshake should the bid get up.
The Spirit players who committed were; Hutch, Kwas, Milligan, Osman, Sully, Petrie, Spenny and Wilko.
When the bid got up all players signed except Milligan who had, in the meantime, renegged on the deal and without telling anyone gone off and signed with Sydney.
Apparently Fergie was furious and gunning for him and Milligan was rightly scared.

Interesting. I asked Milligan's brother about it and he was offered way more money apparently.
In fairness I can't say I blame him, all the club's were new and one down the road offers you substantially more coin. No one really knew if this experiment would even pay off so I'd have probably taken the money too. It's business as much as loyalty to mates at this level

Cheers for the heads up. I do understand why Fergie and probably many of the guys would be dirty about it
