Our home away from home.

I know it’s an away game so fans don’t get upset but shorely we should be in stripes.

Victory on a bit of a roll and got the big guns on the field together playing well. Will be a tough game.

Who are the Victory boys for the 23’s

Only Thomas Deng for them, DDS for us (Buhagiar & Glover too, but we aren't losing them from first team)

Serious question has victory got 6 goals in them ? Going to start covering the spread on a loss
They do not, been very average and were lucky to beat City and an extremely undermanned Jets. Our half decent defence and possession style wouldn't allow them to get to six even if we play pretty poorly.

they did look good against jets. dunno maybe your right boys.

So I’ll cover all CCM losses to nil
up to 5 goals.
That should just about do it !

There’s no way in hell we score so I reckon it’s a dead cert !

I'll probably road trip down for this one.
... yay.
Fox saying there is reports of potential 40c weather and this problematic for the FFA.

They don’t want to delay the game as they want to keep everyone watching the City game on free to air at 8pm and as the game is in Geelong and it’s the Christmas period there are alot of people in the area and with Victory’s asian cup commitments Victory don’t want the game postponed

I'll be surprised if it's not kicked back to 6pm or even moved to Sunday.

Of more concern is there are two big bash games on the pitch today. Does that mean they're switching the drop-in out over 3 days and if so, will the turf in the centre hold?

Wasn't Muscat an angry man about NSO just two years ago for the same reason?

Officially moved back to 6pm. If the WGBT stays above 31 degrees by kickoff there'll be drinks breaks. City game stays at 7:50pm that night.

Our FYL game at Popondetta v WSW is now 7pm instead of 4:30pm the same evening.

FFA alters match scheduling in response to high forecast temperatures
Football Federation Australia (FFA) can today advise that it has made several changes to Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League, and FOXTEL Y-League scheduling this weekend in response to high forecast temperatures across Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, and New South Wales.

“Changes to Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League, and FOXTEL Y-League scheduling have been made with the interests of the players and match officials, as well as supporters and club staff in mind,” said Head of Hyundai A-League & Westfield W-League, Greg O’Rourke. “The safety and comfort of players, as well as those working at or attending FFA sanctioned matches, is of paramount importance to FFA.”

Hyundai A-League:

Saturday’s Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Season Round 14 fixture between Melbourne Victory and Central Coast Mariners at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong is now scheduled to kick-off at 6.00pm instead of 5.35pm.

The ambient temperature in Geelong is forecast to drop significantly between 6.00pm and 7.00pm on Saturday, while the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) test that FFA uses to determine player safety is predicted to be well under the limit by the revised kick-off time.

Should the ambient temperature in Geelong remain above 31 degrees Celsius at kick-off on Saturday, match officials will implement one (1) or more official drinks break per half.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Round 14 match between Melbourne City FC and Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park on Saturday evening will remain as scheduled, as the temperature in Melbourne is forecast to drop to an acceptable range before kick-off at 7.50pm.

Melbourne Victory v Central Coast Mariners

Melbourne City FC’s Westfield W-League 2017/18 Season Round 10 home match against Perth Glory FC on Saturday 6 January 2018 has been moved to Sunday 7 January 2018. This match, which was previously scheduled to be played at AAMI Park at 5.00pm, will now be played at City Football Academy in Bundoora. Kick-off will be at 4.30pm.

Meanwhile, FFA is proposing to delay the kick-off time of Canberra United’s Westfield W-League 2017/18 Season Round 10 home match against Adelaide United at McKellar Park on Sunday 7 January 2018. FFA is awaiting confirmation from the venue and will advise the new kick-off time on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Newcastle Jets’ FOXTEL Y-League 2017/18 Round 7 home match against Sydney FC at No.2 Sportsground on Sunday 7 January 2018 will also now be delayed by two and half hours and kick-off at 7.00pm instead of 4.30pm.

So moving the kickoff back by 25 minutes is going to avoid the boys getting heatstroke is it?

We will have to hope that the high temperature affects MVC more than it does our boys, as it might level the playing field a bit.

Heading down for this one but more in hope than expectation tbh.o_O

The peak is forecast at 4pm at 42 degrees. At 5pm it is still forecast to be 41 degrees. At 6pm kick off the forecast is for around 33 degrees. 27 degrees by half time. 24 degrees by fulltime.

Not ideal - but also not out of the ordinary for a summer comp.
