No, I asked politely if there's a definition of a push anywhere in the rules... If you're going to make a distinction between a push and a clumsy attempt to get to the ball, then I think it'd be helpful to have a definition that says exactly what a push is, just the same as there need to be definitions for what constitutes reckless etc.

No, there's no 'definition' of a push. It's really not a controversial one. Was it the arm being used? The arm exerted force? Then it's a push.
