R12 away v Nix

Was interesting watching the WSW v Nix game and at the point of Krishna scoring his double to come back for the win, Rudan was issued a Yellow Card with a resulting dumbfounded look as to why ??? o_O
...... BUT he knows why he got booked.

Audio on Fox clearly picked up an extremely loud :
"FCUK Yeaaaaah, ..... FCUK YOU JP !!"

'JP' - being Wanderer's Assistant Coach John Paul De Marigny, who at FT confronted Rudan .... who returningly shook JP's hand and tried to act like he either hadn't said those exact words directly to the WSW bench but/or had directed them towards 'somebody/somethingthing' else ??
... (yeah .. dont think so Rud's)

JP can be seen having a go at him with his back to camera with Rudan trying to get away to his players on the pitch, picture cuts away and audio picks up something along the lines of:
"You need to pull you head in mate, your getting a bit a head of yourself !".

JP is a 100% spot on with this bravado from the 'Mel McLaughlin stalker' .

Rudan's & Wellington's fortunes could fall away in the blink of an eye if he's not careful.

Was all that Mel McLaughlin stalker stuff legit?

He can’t tackle without fouling and he cannot pass the ball well. I can probably guess he can’t track lateral runs and runs from behind him as a striker never has to do this. These are three major attributes of a DM he doesn’t have.

Simon at DM would be an utter and total disaster.

You do realise you’ve just described Melling to a tee though right?

Not at all. Melling can tackle and tackle well. He can also pick up lateral runs. Has been doing it more than O’Neill this season.

Passing is a different story but hey, Jedinak made an EPL career without this ability because he was so strong in the other attributes.

Aiden in the squad ? Thought he was out ? Also, strangely, no mention of Clisby.

Central Coast Mariners squad: 1.Ben KENNEDY (gk), 2.Jonathan ASPROPOTAMITS, 4.Jake McGING, 6.Tom HIARIEJ, 7.Andrew HOOLE, 8.Michael McGLINCHEY, 10.Tommy OAR, 11.Connor PAIN, 12.Adam PEARCE (gk), 13.Aiden O’NEILL, 15.Kye ROWLES,18.Matt MILLAR, 19.Matt SIMON (c), 22.Jacob MELLING, 23.Mario SHABOW, 25.Jordan MURRAY, 26.Joshua NISBET
**One to be omitted**

Ins: 2.Jonathan ASPROPOTAMITS (return from injury) & 26.Joshua NISBET (promoted)

Outs: 20.Kalifa CISSE (suspended)

Unavailable: 21.Corey GAMEIRO (calf)

Cant see Mulvey starting Aspro as he wouldnt last the 90 mins. More likely to bring him on in the 2nd half as a conduit for re-jigging the formation to counter 'what-ever' problems were up against at the time.
- but then again NO Golec or Clisby means NO Left back for a back x4. ??

This will be interesting to see what Mulvey puts out.

You wouldn't think so, and most players he's brought back in via the bench. But it doesn't leave him much to work with in the back line. Mcging, Rowles would seem to be locked in. Millar in a back 3 as a back would massively limit his impact so maybe he is intending on throwing Aspro in the deep end. Either way there isnt a lot of defensive cover on that bench. Tom or Melling could drop in if needed but that leaves an even less settled midfield. Odd selections, seems heavily stacked towards attacking even though Wellington play a fast attacking game that will keep our back line working hard.

I'll try to keep an open mind until I see the formation but it looks like a risky line up. Golec and Clisby must be really out of favour.

Edit - I suspect we'll see a similar line up and formation to the Sydney game but with Aspro in for Cisse. The opening performance was good before the red card and perhaps even post injury Aspro has the pace on Golec and Clisby, whether he has the pace for Krishna will be the real test.

I would be starting Aspro and think he might. You don't need to be as fit as a CB, reading the game, positioning is all important. He has had a run in the youth for a few so don't think fitness will be an issue.
MM needs to start getting to as close as possible a starting side that can compete. Players will always struggle a little when coming back after long term injuries but what have we got to lose? He will be better for it.

I definitely see a case for it and maybe not MM's preferred way to introduce him but the suspension forced his hand. Still there's no defensive cover in that line up so we need to hope he can last 90.

He has been lining up with Aspro and Tommy H at training.

Well with Clisby mistakenly left out of that squad list, totally changes all possibillities.
