ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Just when we hoped Tommy H and O’Neil would get a run together

Not expecting much from Aspro, purely because of his lay off. Will definitely take a few 90minutes to get really going.
But hopefully having him fit means we’ll never see Cisse on the park for us again. (Probably not, being Mulveys boyfriend and all)

With no Aiden and Kali.....I would give this team a go -

..........................BK.............................
..Millar.......Aspro......Golec.......Rowles
...............Tommy H....WeeMac.............
........................Matty..............................
..Pain..............Murray.............Oar.........

Hopefully the Tommy's can last the distance.

I'd have McGing in for Rowles and play 3-4-3 with Millar and Oar overlapping. .

I'd still like to see Matty as DM and Tommy H as AM. Might need Aidan to be on the field for that to work though.
Murray as a 9 and Millar has to be a winger not a full back

Matthew Simon as a DM. Now I have heard everything on this forum.

What makes you think he’d be any better than melling who at least knows the position?

. what makes you think that he won't?

. people have suggested i would be better than Melling and not knowing the position is well down the list of suitable attributes i am missing

 :piralaugh:

... too harsh?

I don't know if he'd work there, but he has all the attributes of a DM and less and less of a striker as the years pass by

He can’t tackle without fouling and he cannot pass the ball well. I can probably guess he can’t track lateral runs and runs from behind him as a striker never has to do this. These are three major attributes of a DM he doesn’t have.

Simon at DM would be an utter and total disaster.

DM's also need a decent engine for 'consistent movement'.

Matt Simon is the proverbial wind-up toy, goes hard for short periods, a brief rest, then resets himself & goes again.

Sometimes he gets lucky and has someone to 'wind-him up' either figuratively or physically ..... sometimes both.
