ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

^ When did that happen? Where abouts?

I didn't see Danny throw his gloves into the crowd. Kwassie threw his shoes.

I doubt it was any REAL Mariner fan who would try and steal a momento from a 14 year old kid.

WHO AHD JUST RECENTLY HAD A BRAIN TUMOUR!!!!!

THIS IS STRAIT FORM THE DAILY TELEGRAPH
Typical Scumcastle level of intelligence. You can't spell, you can't type, your grammar is terrible and the newspaper you've quoted is wrong.  Is there any truth in anything you type???? I suppose the next thing you are going to tell me is that Scumcastle are a good team  :piralaugh: :piralaugh:

WTF wouldn an Jets supporter want one of Danny's gloves as a souvenir? To profit from selling it on e-Bay maybe? In dont give a poo whether he was recovering from cancer treatment - the glove deserves to go to a Mariners supporter.

At least he'll have one warm hand this winter.  He probably go to the grand final looking to add to his wardrobe.

Why does his treatment come into it?

No one knew he was sick.

It's just another nothing story to fill a stupid bogan paper

Pasword - if your only coming on here to stir things and not be constructive then please go away, you are trolling DON'T CONTINUE TO!

V1 of the HAL we had women and children in bays 10/11 and Newcastle fans threw beer, bottles and spat on us from above.....gutless mate! So don't come on here saying that we are bad fans you idiot.

If the story is true then number 1 yes they should go to a Mariners fan, number 2 they should have been sitting in the away bay, number 3 nobody knew he was sick, and number 4 nobody on this forum would do such a thing if they knew the history about the boy.

I saw danny throw his gloves, was standing at the gate next to the tunnel on the bay 7 side.. I wouldnt have minded one of his spiffy red boots though... xD

In regards to the Leagues fight; When we were walking past the large window-walls there were maybe a dozen people in there just going at each other. Not sure if they were suporters or not, but a couple of the police came in and broke it up a little while after.

Imagine if Mariners fans all went to the papers every time they felt mistreated at EAS!

The New York Times (sorry, I meant Central Coast Express Advocate - I'm always getting those 2 mixed up) would have to do a special edition after every away game @ Scum Stadium!

The story only made the scum paper because it's such an unexpected occurrence for the shoe to be on the other foot.

Why bother going on there, really?

When Mariners fans go on their forum starting threads like you have, it's only going to attract trolls from up north to come on here and post stupid threads back.

It shits me when trolls come on here stiring shit so personally I don't bother with them.

If I was a mod on their forum I would have banned you too.....lol

Hahaha, I've already been warned.    Trying hard for a ban - well, not really, but they've gotten strict on the 'troll' factor these days.

Ironic thing is, I don't really consider that trolling......... my posts are somewhat eloquent, and aside from the drunk one, they all make sense.  Not my fault they can't handle Griffiths being a diver.  ;)

I think we have a new song, should we play the Scum in the big one:

"Newcastle till they lose, Newcastle till they lose
We know they are they show they are
Newcastle till they lose!"

Of the 6 people ejected, at least 2 were scum. Saw 2 being loaded straight into a paddy wagon about 20 mins after kick off.

Re - Danny's Glove

I was right there on the fence cheering the boys when Danny took his glove off and threw it into the crowd.  Just by chance it landed in the kid's lap (he didn't have to move).  The look on Danny's face was priceless he couldn't believe that it had gone to the Jets supporter.  I was sitting near these guys during the game and apart from supporting the wrong team they were decent guys (spose there has to be one or two).

What happened afterwards was a disgrace.  A number (at least 3) grown men went up to the kid to ask if they could have the glove.  As is his right he refused.  This didn't go down to well and one of the blokes tried to grab it out of his hand.  This encouraged others to try as well, including one moron who was leaning over the back of the kid trying to rip the glove out of his hand.

Afterwards one of the coppers on duty there asked if they were ok and got security to escort them out of the stadium.

Regardless of brain tumours, whatever team you support, or if you idolise Danny Vukovic and would do anything to have a piece of his memorabilia in your pool room; to attack (and that's what it was) a young kid who was only there supporting his team and having a good time and not harming anyone, is as low as it gets.  I hope these f***wits read that article and feel ashamed of themselves.  Grown men attacking young boys - that is f***ed and not what I would have expected from Mariner fans of any level of dedication.

:soapbox:

So Costar, what did you do to help this poor kid?? Or was your outrage safely confined to a rant 3 days later??

Outside CCLC, a youngish Jest fan with his GF was quite close to getting belted by 2 or 3 guys and I saw fit to get them to pull their heads in.

So whats ur excuse??

Good point.  No I didn't get involved - I commend you for doing so.  Seeing as there were 2 or 3 adults with the boy they handled the situation.

Would you have me get involved and possibly cop a smack in the mouth for my efforts and then have to deal with any trauma my young kids may face?  Not everyone is as confident as you appear to be in these situations.

The actual intent of my post was to actually point out what had happened.  Obviously the rag the story was in can't be trusted to present unbiased stories.  Add to that - at a staff meeting today I copped a gobfull as a Mariners fan because some of our fans were spitting and throwing drinks at Newcastle fans.  Regardless of what their fans do to us we don't need to stoop to their level.  What I described is exactly what happened.

If we learn anything from the whole thing it is that what we do will be reported in the media, and then it is Football that suffers.  Let's hope that neither of us have to see anything like we did and either have to step in or contemplate stepping in.  I'd hate to end up reading a story in the paper about a good samaritan ending up on the wrong end of a belting (we've all seen those) and in the end Football getting another black eye and giving the other codes a free leg up.

Two Jets fans tapped me on the back and said "Good game Mate" after the game, to my surprise. I didn't know they taught 'good sportsmanship ' in trailer parks or Ghettos.

On the serious note, I was thankful and that is how the game should be.
