Can’t lie it will be nice to see Matty back in yellow and navy whether it’s a starter, impact or whatever. It was an injustice he was released. I’d love for him to bag some goals. Extremely interested what formation Mulvey is going to go with as his preferred, wouldn’t mind 2 up top.

This Wales situation is absolutely boiling my blood.

So Melbourne City are basically following our model of youth development, but have the money to be one step further down the chain and let us make the sacrifice of points to develop raw talent, only to pick it up once it's slightly less raw talent..

Well - they have to get in there before Sydney I guess...

Welcome back some Mariners spirit

There will be fight in this team again. The lack of fight is the main thing I have mourned the last few years

Matty is still young enough to make a major contribution. Would like to see us play 2 up front as well, with Matty just behind a quality forward. They would be a handful. All contracted players so far are all decent so am very happy so far. As the squad gets stronger it will also be easier to sway players into moving. No one wants to move to a club that looks likely to struggle. There is a toughness to the signings (and intended signings) we haven't seen in a few years.

We won't be pretty but no one will want to play us.

Wales had his head turned by the other lightweights. No one who sees him at CCMA is upset.

Definitely building as a squad that will scrap and fight for us, the fans. As they bloody should. EG: the mariners of uptill 4-5 seasons ago.
I believe we still have enough quality (also pending a couple more signings) to play good footy with the ball.
Although, having pain and Hoole still here is annoying for me. Our fan base is 50/50 on Pain, he can score a banger very rarely but he is so frustrating to watch sometimes.. he needs to add atleast 2 new things to his game along with consistency and some mongrel.
Hoole can just leave.

A League needs to bring in transfer fees so we can start profiting off Melbourne City again.

At least they will pay. SFC the tight arses just steal from us

I wonder what else mulvey has planned for our attack. Our 2 attacking signings aren't clinical or reliable goalscorers. They fit in with the grit idea but we still don't have anybody really capable of scoring.
It's nice to see Simon back but he isn't the player he once was

Luke Wilkshire released by Sydney. Could fill our right back position?

He’s going home to wollongong apparently........

and if he came here he would have to put up with simon again for goal production ??? ....... not an insentive to set the world on fire.

Sorry to see Wales go, but Matty will bring back a lot of grit. He'd have to be cheap, so I'm happy with this.

There’s enough grit in the tea ......... oh !!! “Grit “......... sorry .......... my word association is not what it used to be .......... then maybe it it ;)

More than spirit is needed ........ keeping in mind it is a couple of years matured since. Hitting the sauce bottles from inside the box won’t win many games or lift anybody’s spirits.
