Take a look at this laughable drivel. Classic Channel Nine.
Olympic hero's surprising claim about A-League failure

Perhaps he didn't get a contract because the club was paying for a washed-up sprinter with the first touch of a brick who went back to the states to do modelling immediately after the two friendlies?
A lot of people have asked me why we didn't sign Bolt, and the answer is incredibly straight forward. He didn't care and he was going to cost far too much. Perhaps he would've brought crowds to games but it's hard as a member of club staff to predict whether or not the club would have made money on merchandise and ticket sales to outweigh his salary. The concept had some life to it but in general, his head wasn't in it.
Disgusting though that Channel Nine is now bringing this up two years after it happened, more disappointing due to the fact that the club is going through a crisis. Find your clicks through something more meaningful rather than something that happened 24 months ago.
Moral of the story is the major Australian journalism outlets are mostly a pack of toothless morons and it's in a state of disrepair, but that's an argument for another day.
