It's up to you how you participate in the community!

You DON't want a small mate. I wear a Large so I would say med or even large. (even though it's gonna spend more time wrapped around your head than on your body! )

THE Central Coast Mariners have now appeared in two of the three A-League grand finals to date, but coach Lawrie McKinna is more focused on avoiding the trappings of the one season they didn't get there.

After going 12 games unbeaten to reach the inaugural grand final (which, of course, they lost to Sydney), the Mariners only picked up four points from their first six games in 2006-07, and were never really in the finals hunt, eventually finishing five points out of fourth place.

You could argue they got that disappointment out of their system last season when they had basically sewn up a finals berth by the halfway point, but McKinna is making doubly sure this season.

The simple answer is that you can never be short of firepower. Despite the loss of John Aloisi to Sydney, the Mariners still possess a formidable frontline.

McKinna cites that as the major shortcoming of the 2006-07 campaign, but with the emergence of Matt Simon, the recruitment of Dylan MacAllister, the return from injury of Nick Mjdja and the veteran presence of Sasha Petrovski, he is covering all bases this season.

Add to that, the recruitment of Ahmad Elrich (Wellington) and Adrian Caceras (Melbourne), and the Mariners are going to prove difficult to hold out.

The Mariners set the standard last season with their fast start that all other teams are now determined to emulate.

McKinna, seemingly, has his side right at its peak from the kick-off, so when the inevitable injuries and suspensions hit, they are still in a good position.

Last season they went to Sydney and got the points in round one. This season the task is no less unenviable a grand final replay in Newcastle followed by a home match against early-season favourites Sydney. But one thing you can never accuse McKinna of is his lack of bravado.

Finish: 4th
