FORMER Central Coast Mariner Andre Gumprecht is training with F3 rivals Newcastle Jets as he looks for a fresh start.
The midfielder has joined up with Gary van Egmond's squad as the A-League champions continue their build up towards the big kick-off and defence of their title.

The former Mariner has been keeping himself match fit with NSW Premier League side Bankstown City.

Meanwhile, Johnny Warren Medal-winner Joel Griffiths has resumed training with the club after a month's break but his troublesome ankle injury is still not 100 per cent.

He will visit a specialist and have further scans on the injury, although he is able to play through the pain.

And from the rumour mill...............

Gumprecht to Jets

Former Central Coast Mariners player Andre Gumprecht is soon to be announced as a player for the Newcastle Jets.

After being linked with QLD Roar, he has prefered to sign a little closer to home, so he can also keep his soccerpro junior training academy running on the Central Coast.

Hopefully Gumps will go in studs up on Griffiths in training. Perhaps we've got a contract with Gumps, just not one that can be spoken about  :piralaugh:

Gumps going in studs up you're having a laugh.......he'd pull out of the tackle well before his studs left the ground!

Gumps would be nothing more than a squad player for any HAL club, could do a job but is not the same player he was in V1!  If it's true I hope the scum are stupid enough to pay him what he was asking.....too much!

However, if he's agreeing to an average wage he'd be an ok pick up! Plus would add some more spice to the F3 derby, bring it on if true!

(We now wait for Wombat to come on and advise us he's becoming a Jets supporter)

Ahh no matter where or who he plays for or with. I'll always be a fan of his.... Odd thing is he is still on the Mariners website and its past the 30th of June.

you're too polite Dibo

TBH thou Spenny and Gumps are certainly rejects, Holland thou was offered a deal with us but chose Newcastle because he felt he would get more game time.  Given we have lost Tommy now his chance would have certainly come this year, but that would have been too late for him to be an olympic hopeful.............still a bogan c**t though of course!

Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The polarity of the universe just reversed.

Can't blame him at all, but I was hoping he had better taste.

Gumps in a puke shirt - vomit, vomit, vomit.

I just hope it doesn't backfire on us.
