ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

2020/21 Other A-League Games

No ads, no promotion, no clue. Our league starts tonight and have not seen a single bit of effort from our broadcaster or governing body to advertise its premier league. If I've missed something feel free to tell me but what a shambles honestly.

All I've seen is a banner ad during the ACL final, 20 second Foxtel ad directly after, 2 Facebook ads last night and a Melbourne City membership poster. Truly pathetic effort.

I’ve seen some posts on Instagram, totally agree and especially since the original first game was postponed. If you don’t go and look for it you wouldn’t know it’s on tonight. Looking forward to watching it though.

I’ve seen some around Big Bash & Aus v India matches on Foxtel. Nothing outside of socials from the league itself, somehow they’ve outdone themselves in failing to market even though this was the year the independent league was taking the reigns.

Nothing for us to be worried about with Wanderers. Slow and not very good. Bernie is awful
Bernie is definitely looking out of sorts compared to last season, not training for most of preseason will do that to you. Thought the Jets were unlucky in the first half and probably should have been leading, Ziggy got repeatedly skinned by Yuel. If Ziegler gets fit I can see Ziggy dropping out. Najjarine looks a pretty good player, would have had at least one more assist if it wasn't for O'Donovan missing his shooting boots.

Wellington robbed by one of the worst VAR decisions ever, Rufer just falls and brushes Genreau no way it was violent conduct.
Yeah that was terrible.
I'd say there was a bit of a lash out....but very little force, so warrants a yellow.

Honestly, if the ref gave the red straight away, I'd say that wasn't as bad as THIS decision - because on VAR, it means that both the VAR has said that not only is the decision wrong - but it's clearly and obviously wrong (I kind of take that to mean 'inarguably' wrong). If you want to say it's worthy of a red - I disagree, but sure, I can at least see some argument. But clear and obvious? Not even close.

Did you notice Genreau's tackle though? Straight leg, studs up, missed the ball and right on the ankle. That was much more of a red card than Rufer's tackle was - heck, nix should've had a free kick 20 yards out.

A yellow each way and a Nix FK would have been fine.

Just a terrible decision, completely incorrect VAR intervention, and completely incorrect referee application of a VAR intervention.

VAR recommended a review for a possible red card - ref still had all the authority to say 'no, f**kwit, go back to watching porn on your 6th monitor and stuffing your face with a quarter pounder'.

Nothing changes - and neither ref nor VAR will be held accountable.

Nix, like us, are one of the clubs that cops it hardest from VAR.

Of course, it was perfectly okay for Georgievski to kick out last week

So even the new League remains massively corrupt....... or its the same Monkeys watching the VAR replays, pressing a random button as they roll aroud screeching, picking nits off each other and throwing peanuts.
That’s putting shit on actual monkeys methinks

It's Kris Griffith-Jones again. He's been responsible for most of the VAR blunders. Though fault clearly lies with the idiots that won't fire him.

Methinks one of the problems is that they want us to believe that refs/match officials are infallible and they won’t call them on their f**kups

Mmm...still wouldn't explain the lack of behind-the-scenes accountability.

Anyway, red cards can be rescinded, though be interesting to see if this one is. Personally I don't think it should meet the (very, very high bar) for rescinding such a card.

suspension still stands at 1 match.

I'm okay with the red card standing....personally I think the bar needs to be much higher than this for one to be rescinded.

If there was literally no movement of the foot at all, then that'd be different - but the small apparently kick-out suggests a good case for at least a yellow - I'd want the bar to rescind a red card to be when there's absolutely nothing at all, not just 'harsh'.

There have been bigger errors than this one not overturned.
