A win that feels like a loss.
We should have done more with all those shots and all that possession.

Respect to the Thais, they played out of their skin.

Wow Rogic sums it up. 100 shots some beauty's saved and some horrors snatched at.

No cohesion. No one knows where the other is going.

Still to slow ball movement and Mooy loves head down spin let them get back then head up. While he's good enough the rest aren't. Needed Melbourne city Mooy.

Thailand were very good in there desperation, for a team with nothing to play for they gave it everything in defense. Hit there legs a few times. Then Leckie goal gets through 100 of them.

Tomi Juric saying, "we lost only just the one game, last week in Japan for the whole qualifying"

Come off it mate! .... shows they're all drinking the Postecoglou 'kool-aid'

Of the 10 games, Australia only won 5, drew 4 (the most of any team- with 2 being next highest) and lost 1.

'4 draws' are the primary reason we're facing the vicarious position of a possible 3rd place play-off.

Ange Postecoglou's new system of 4-2-3-1 and his choice of players for it have come in for some heavy criticism.

Nick Stoll, from The World Game, has taken an in-depth look at how Australia has conceded goals in the last 10 months and has put together a comprehensive article with videos and stills showing patterns that have emerged and where the problems of this system lie.

I think it's a really great piece worth a read:

Systemic weakness: How Australia concede goals

Bozza with the blow torch
Ange with the meltdown in press conference

Unbelievable game but what we deserved. Defence has been letting in those type of goals even pre back 3

Postecoglou OUT

Yet again he blunders by sending on his 'love child' Kruse. And Kruse shows yet again that he's worse than useless. Terrible touch and passing. And to top it off, turns over the ball to gift the Thais their goal.

Telling statistic is no one from the Asia conference has made a WC from third place since 1997. We can probably get through Syria but Concaf is a whole new problem especially for Plan A only Ange. Will he last to see out the qualifiers I'm starting to think not after his press conference. This game should have been a celebration of auto qualifying not score as many as we can. The problem started long ago.

Heartbreaking game, on any other day we would have scored 8 but we shouldn't have had to go for that sort of scoreline in the first place. This is firmly on Ange's head, no Cahill in Thailand and the change of system midway through caused this. I don't think bringing in a different coach would help us qualify but Ange has a lot to answer for if we don't and even if we do.

I'm not at the point of #AngeOUT, just extremely frustrated with his stubborness to be flexible in regards to his new philosphy and to adapt to the obstacles that each team we play incur.
- & my frustatration primarily stems from Ange stating that he's constantly learning and growing as a Coach.

How can you Ange ??? when everybody knows adaptation IS the only thing that brings about evolution, and that applies to Coaching Football as well !!!

Couple that with his, again repeated:
A) every player needs a club, in a decent league
B) playing in that club regularly, no point sitting on a bench at a better club for ca$h
C) and finally, a player's form/consistency is the ultimate precursor for team selection.
- BUT he ignored ALL of these/his rules and subsequently outcries of unworthy 'favouritism' ensued.

99% of coaches the world over are happy with 1pt for an away game, whether it's club or country.

A pragmatic approach going into the Japan game & formulating for a draw (w/ the possibillity of a jagged win even)
...... would've had him being the 'Hero of the Hour' this morning.

I'll interrupt the goo feasting to remind people that we were denied by the frame three times, there were *several* goal line clearances and some pretty handy saves as well.

Given that the brief was to go out and dominate, they actually filled the brief. They were just *desperately* unlucky.

The problem wasn't last night. The problem was the dropped 2 points in Bangkok and the dropped 2 points in Riyadh.

The Thai's were unlucky too.
- should have been awarded a penalty, it was pretty clear-cut.

If it had been awarded the score could've easily have been 2-2.
