Easy win.
however.......Kruse is such a soft cock!! I wouldn't mind but he is no where near as good as he thinks he is.
Cahill gave him some banter after the game and gave him a playful slap and he's slinked off like a girl guide that didn't get her sewing badge.

Some other massive results UAI beat Japan away 2-1, we play them at home next week.

Korea beat China 3-2

the injury's kruse has suffered . doesn't warrant this kind of attack frankly .

Tommy Juric looked very good apart from that fluff.

Hope he can continue to push out Timmy. The time has come for Tim to be a super sub for the World Cup.

Yeah, he's had some nasty injuries and done well to get back into the squad BUT what's that got to do with his inflated ego ???

He had the option to 'pass' when Aus had a 3 on 2 defenders in attack BUT he chose to 'go it alone' , took it up the sideline and ultimately fcuked it up in the corner.

I'd say that was what Cahill was giving him a 'playful slap' & chat about that Wombie was referring to.

Should of taken it on the chin, "Yeah I should of passed".

Harper commentated at that time, that Ange and the bench all 'went up' when Kruse chose not to.

Word had it, that he had a chip on his shoulder when at Brisbane, which helped orchestrate an easy transfer to Victory back then

Don't normally pay too much attention to what Harper says but he did come out with a cracking comment when Juric missed that sitter, it went something like " he was in the right position however had spaghetti legs". Was a very accurate description and you do have to wonder about a striker who gets confused with which foot to kick with when in front of an open goal, the expectation is instinct kicks in and you bury it into the net. As mentioned he did do well in not letting an absolute clanger upset his game by providing a great assist a few minutes later.

Will be taping the UAE game and watching it before I leave for work, it would be nice to see a result in the middle east as all too often we don't cope well with playing over there.

Juric was surprised by where the ball was to what he thought his positioning was going to give him.

HE was in position to tap home with his favoured left foot, but the ball was curling and the slide from the defender hid what the ball was doing. It ended up coming to his back leg which he'd used as his pivot foot and his weaker foot.
Effectively he'd over run the ball hence the horrible attempt to readjust.

It's a shame he didn't score on that first shot.

Still think we need him to come along and be no1 and he has the attributes if he can stay on the pitch.

Monumental win for the Roos, good game plan and well executed by the team. All we had to do was survive the first 20min onslaught without conceding then we were well in the game. Perfect cross from Smith for Timmy and that is why Smith is in the team despite his rusty effort against Iraq. The boys were focused and hungry and it showed despite the very tuff conditions. Away wins are gold.

First up I will admit that I would struggle to just watch the game from the stands in that type of heat so kudos to all the players on that count. On that basis it was a huge performance.

That said the midfield of Milligan, Mooy and Rogic were giving away the ball for kicks for about 15 minutes in the first half. Indeed Milligan was also lucky IMHO to stay on the field after a scissor tackle in the first half that didn't even get a yellow. Timmy with the goal was predictable from what was a sublime cross - but the question needs to be asked why did Juric not get similar service.

The only player that really got found out was McGowan. Jedi back to DM and Millsy to RB would fix that.

Agree on McGowan, would rather see Jason Geira at RB, (no game time under his belt at the moment other than the pre-season friendlies.)

Be interesting to see if Ange considers him for the October games, or goes back to Degenek

Milligan was very grubby and was done over a few times by good runs just got away with grabbing to save his arse, however he did get away with it which was important.

I'm not liking the new shape. Don't look as good as the Asian cup.

Thought Ange should have taken Kruse off earlier. He was gassed and they needed an outlet as the UAE backs where gone as well.

Abdulrahman has a super left foot by why did he have so much space. I know it was very hot and hard to chase but he was way to dangerous and we should of been punished a couple of times. That ball from a quick free kick from half way that caught McGowan out was a beauty, lucky Sainsbury got there.

Bit sloppy both games but 2 wins is all that matters.

Jeggo named in Socceroos squad for World Cup matches:

Sturm Graz midfielder James Jeggo is in line for his first Socceroos cap after being named in Australia's squad for the forthcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Saudi Arabia and Japan.

The former Adelaide United player's inclusion has been reward for an impressive start to the season with his Austrian club and joins ex-Reds teammate Craig Goodwin and Preston North End defender Bailey Wright as the only additions to the Socceroos squad.

Making way for Jeggo, Wright and Goodwin was strikers Nathan Burns and Apostolos Giannou while Perth Glory defender Josh Risdon was also omitted.

Tim Cahill's inclusion in the squad confirms Melbourne City's star signing will be absent from his club's A-League Round 1 match which coincides with the two World Cup qualifiers in October.

Socceroos shot stopper Mat Ryan kept his spot in the squad despite reports he suffered a knee injury with club side Valencia and would be sidelined for several weeks.

Backup goal keepers Adam Federici and Mitch Langerak were both included in the squad and will battle it out for the right to take over from Ryan should he fail to recover in time for the matches on October 6 and October 11.

The squad will travel to Jeddah on Sunday, October 2 for the match against a Saudi Arabian side that won its first two qualifiers. The Scooceroos will then return to Melbourne for their October 11 clash against Japan at Etihad Stadium

“We’ve made a couple of slight tweaks to the squad in line with our mantra of selecting players who are in form and fitness and we’d like to have a good look at Craig Goodwin and James Jeggo, who have started their seasons well in Europe,” Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou said.

“Bailey Wright also comes back in after he missed the first two matches through injury and we go to Saudi Arabia and then back to Melbourne with a squad we are comfortable can continue the good start we achieved last month.

"When the draw was released we acknowledged that this window was a real challenge with a very tough away game followed by the clash with Japan at home but that doesn’t mean we stray from the way we prepare ourselves for every match."
