The first two semi-finalists in the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 will be determined on Wednesday evening when Hyundai A-League giants Sydney FC and Melbourne City FC collide at Leichhardt Oval, and PS4 NPL Victoria heavyweights Heidelberg United FC host the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup Champions Adelaide United at Olympic Village.
PREVIEW: Heidelberg v Adelaide

PREVIEW: Sydney v City

Graham Arnold’s men will be out to exact a measure of revenge against City at their temporary home ground in Lilyfield after Melbourne City FC defeated the Sky Blues 1-0 in last year’s Westfield FFA Cup Final played in the Victorian capital.

Sydney FC earned their place in the Quarter Finals of the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 following strong wins over Darwin Rovers in the Round of 32 and Bankstown Berries in the Round of 16.

Melbourne City FC booked their Quarter Finals place courtesy of triumphs over Peninsula Power in the Round of 32 and Hakoah Sydney City East in the Round of 16.

Wednesday’s match could feature the return of Caltex Socceroos star Tim Cahill to Westfield FFA Cup action.

Cahill, who scored the winner in last year’s Westfield FFA Cup Final, missed City’s 3-2 win over Hakoah Sydney City East in the Round of 16 due to his involvement with Australia’s national team.

In the other Quarter Finals encounter to be played tomorrow evening Heidelberg United FC will be seeking to bounce back swiftly from their PS4 NPL Victoria Grand Final defeat against Bentleigh Greens on Sunday.

The ‘Bergers’ were forced to play 120 minutes of football on Sunday evening in the lead up to their Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals clash against Marco Kurz’s Reds.

Heidelberg sealed their spot in the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals after defeating Perth Glory from the Hyundai A-League in the Round of 32, and Sydney United 58 FC on penalties in the Round of 16.

Adelaide United advanced to the Quarter Finals of this year’s Westfield FFA Cup at the expense of two of their Hyundai A-League rivals. The Reds eliminated 2015 winners Melbourne Victory in the Round of 16, and Newcastle Jets in the Round of 32.

Wednesday night’s clash between Sydney FC and Melbourne City FC will be broadcast LIVE and exclusive in full on FOX SPORTS, while Heidelberg’s home match against Adelaide will be streamed LIVE on the foxsports.com.au website. FOX SPORTS will also provide crosses to the Heidelberg v Adelaide clash.

Both of Wednesday’s Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals will kick off at 7:30pm (AEST).

Sydney FC look to be in good form heading into 2017/18 HAL, after that FFA Cup performance over Melb City.

Bling's new Polish signing, Adrian Mierzejewski looks to be an outstanding pick -up, a lot more versatile and maybe even twice as good as Holosko, who he replaced.

Arnie said he was only 40% match fit , so keep an eye on him.

Four Hyundai A-League clubs and four member federation clubs remain as the Westfield FFA Cup heads into the Quarter-Final stage.

The final two semi-finalists in the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 will be determined on Wednesday evening when Hyundai A-League heavyweights Western Sydney Wanderers venture to Lily Homes Stadium in Seven Hills to take on Blacktown City FC, and two Member Federation clubs collide on the Gold Coast.

Tony Popovic’s Wanderers will be aiming to make Club history on Wednesday evening by qualifying for the Westfield FFA Cup Semi Finals for the first time, however Mark Crittenden’s men will be out to secure another sizeable scalp in this year’s competition against the team that represents their region in the Hyundai A-League.

Wanderers made their way to the Quarters Finals of this year’s Westfield FFA Cup after defeating Wellington Phoenix in the Round of 32, and PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (PS4 NPL) Victoria Grand Final winners Bentleigh Greens in the Round of 16.

Blacktown booked their place in the Quarter Finals after ousting Central Coast Mariners in the Round of 32, then PS4 NPL New South Wales rivals APIA Leichhardt Tigers in the Round of 16.

Wednesday night’s match at Lily Homes Stadium is officially a sell-out, however fans won’t miss a minute of the action on FOX SPORTS given the game will be shown LIVE and EXCLUSIVE from 7:30pm.

While Blacktown and Western Sydney battle it out for a Semi Final berth, the fourth and final Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals match will be being contested in Queensland between Gold Coast City FC and South Melbourne FC.

FOX SPORTS will stream Gold Coast’s game against South Melbourne LIVE and EXCLUSIVE from CBUS Stadium in Robina via www.foxsports.com.au, and provide regular crosses to the action in Queensland from their Blacktown broadcast.

Gold Coast City FC advanced to the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals after knocking out Western Knights from Perth in the Round of 32, before defeating their PS4 NPL Queensland rivals Moreton Bay United in the last 16.

South Melbourne made the last eight of this year’s Westfield FFA Cup after winning twice on home soil in the Rounds of 32 and 16 against Edgeworth Eagles FC and Sorrento FC respectively.

Both of Wednesday’s Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Quarter Finals will kick off at 7:30pm (AEST).

WSW absolutely dominated them for 60mins. They couldn't even get past half way.

Nice change by Blacktown to change it up and then great long pass and good finish. WSW seemed to either take there foot off the throat or get tired. Those wasted chances almost cost them.

Sydney derby for the final is alive
