ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Is it just me, or as soon as melbourne won the league on goal difference, they were touted as massive undisputed winners. They were said to have been far and away the best side this season.

Does anyone else remember watching the season, and not remembering melbourne being that far ahead? I mean adelaide was leading for most of the season, and lembournes end of season form was no better than qld's.

Jesus i think people are referring to the style of play Melbourne have over United. United sit and play counter football where as Melbourne play with an attacking 5 which is not often seen in modern football and is attractive to watch.

they don't really play with an attacking 5. they have allsopp and archie making runs wide, and hernandez sitting behind. as the ball breaks, they generally try to find carlos first, then an angled ball to the front two.

when there's time (which frankly isn't that often, they're a fast breaking side) or if they're held up, they bring celeski and pondeljak into the play. speed on the counter is the primary strategy. in their goalscoring movements, they very rarely build slowly and try to pass the ball to the box. that's not to say they don't do it, they just don't score that way.

I am talking about since they won the league, not specifically in the grand final build up.
