ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners V Roar

You'd hope that even with the line-up minus him playing they should be able to get the W tonight, but it feels like just our luck to not have his services on a night where a win is crucial in the Premiership race...

Bogey team. Need to fix this bloody hell
That has more to do with the old Roar teams being genuinely good (and CCM being shit the last few years and struggling to beat most sides) than anything else. My prediction of 1-1 tonight is more to do with recent form than any "curse".

It must only count for official HAL matches, because I seem to recall CCM knocked that lot out of the FFA Cup in Redcliffe just last season...

We're getting shots on goal. Bloody niz missed by a whisker. It's got to be Urena, Simon or DDS. Passing decisions need to tighten up and we need to be faster with the ball. Niz, Stens and Ollie have been guilty of keeping the ball for too long

So-

CCM played a tough game against SFC on Saturday night and both sides played/ are playing their following games with a short turnaround and looking underdone.

The Roar were SUPPOSED to be playing the Glory but that match got postponed because there just happened to be a last minute lockdown over the weekend. Resting Brisbane up and leaving them fresh for tonights' game. A game that a player CCM could really use to grab the important goals just so happened to fall ill for-

Illuminati confirmed...

Midfield is absolute shite. They are walking through us. And now a red. It was a great ride while it lasted but this display has put an end to it and all it took was Brisbane. Go figure
Got the Melbourne team that isn't City next, then the return leg against the Roar with (hopefully) Kuol back at a venue where the record against Brissy is decent.

*EDIT*

Forgot it's being played at Redcliffe and not Suncorp

Either way, not time to write the season off yet...

In the first 7 games opposing teams didn’t get a chance to move the ball easily into our midfield with Simon + a younger chaser.

I feel next week with Urena out we might have a chance to test the theory of a younger frontline with more pressure that may suit the 4-4-2 better.

Is it coincidence our wins slowed when Urena started impressing.

Yes some good goals and assists from him but maybe letting opposition backline move the ball into our midfield puts a lot more pressure and effort on our kids making them more tired for when we do have the ball.

Goals and opportunities stopped flowing for DDS and subs and shifted to the Urena / Simon dynamic but is a more stale flow from mid to forwards relying on flicks, chips and tight passing rather than flowing counter attacks which serves us so well.

Next 2 weeks May give that forward opportunity to try something, like last weeks opportunity to try something at the back.
