Wellington win. No pressure tomorrow then.....

f**k that's disappointing Jair being out. I think he would have added a great deal.
Wouldn't be surprised to see McGlinchey on the pitch at some point tomorrow.
Dare I say it replacing Muzz @ 60 minutes or so.

The Central Coast Mariners have made two changes to the matchday squad for Sunday’s Hyundai A-League round seven meeting with Western United.

Midfielder Milan Ðurić is back in after he was omitted from the squad with a hip injury, passing a fitness on Saturday that ensured he will be a chance to take on the league newcomers on Sunday afternoon.

Mikey McGlinchey is also back after returning from international duty with the All Whites, and the two midfielders will replace Mario Shabow and new signing Jair in the preliminary group.

Head Coach Alen Stajcic alluded to Jair not yet being at 100% during Friday’s media, meaning that the Central Coast faithful will have to wait to see their new Brazilian signing in the flesh.

Shabow played 90 minutes in the Mariners 3-3 Foxtel Y-League draw with Sydney FC on Saturday morning, providing an assist for Alou Kuol’s second goal during the first half.

Interested to see what Staj does with his defence. Our lack of pace defensively out wide is a worry.

I think Miller may get a start as a result with Gordon sliding in, Fox and Tongyik dropped.

There needs to be changes. Six goals in two games as well as other stats showing we are the worst defensive team in the comp in regards to chances created against us.

I thought Hatchy would have at least made the extended squad based on Clisby's efforts last week. He is just so freaking quick and I believe would have made a difference against Adelaide like Miller did when he came on. The young kids will make some mistakes but their pace and enthusiasm would bring something different to the team. Also might keep Kit happy because they generally get the crowd buzzing as well.

I’m sure that will bring the crowds back!
I won’t be happy until we are in the top 6, for more then one week.

Might be a bit dramatic. The only struggling side we’ve played is the jets and we drew. Haven’t seen the nix, victory or roar yet. But if we were to lose tomorrow we can’t afford it to be another heavy loss, we at minimum need to put in a good performance regardless of the result.

Next three games are Roar away (voodoo venue), bye and Sydney away do I don’t think his comments are too dramatic.

Massive game tomorrow. Another convincing loss or time spent on the bottom of the table could be the beginning of the end for our club if we cant turn it around! Would just love to see the team go out and get a convincing 2-0, 3-0 win. Sadly each week I don't expect us to win.

Too much of a diehard to ever not support the club, its just getting harder and harder!

I’d definitely want to see points out of Brisbane. WU and Sydney will be a test and putting in a good performance regardless of result is very important. Right now I think a heavy defeat is much more damaging than dropping points in a tight contest that could go either way or being shafted by the ref as WSW last night. No matter what we need to get back in the fight as we have been until the City game.

The negativity is understandable and we’ve had plenty of practice but on the flip side if we win tomorrow we will land 6th or 7th depending on what happens with Perth v Sydney shortly.

1 - 0 will do - Perth is only on 6 points. A win tomorrow will take us to 7 points.

Simple really.

Imo we’re well coached but clearly an unfinished side. 5 or 6 players who need to be moved on and ably replaced.

Up front is our biggest issue because we can’t hope to win games unless we convert our chances. Our defence last week was poor but Clisby’s performance was jaw dropping and we had Rowles out. So I’m hopeful we can improve again this week, and we’ll need to.

But the team that beat Perth is still there and DDS back is key for us too, so I think we’re a long way from done this season. Still too early for doom and gloom i think.

If Duric is indeed fit then I would be tempted to start him and Kim and try to dominate the midfield.

----------------Birighitti
Miller ----Gordon---Rowles---Clisby
-------Eun-sun--------Duric--------------
Silvera------De Silva------------Oar
------------------Murray----------------

Bench
Pearce, Gallifuoco, Stensness, McGlinchey, Nisbet, Majok, Simon. Fox misses out to GG because he can cover the backline as well as DM where Kim and Duric are a bit suspect with fitness and injury.
