Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

In spite of Arnie saying "I've always wanted to be at Sydney" he was a Mariners supporter before he was in the HAL. He was at the first GF wearing a suit and a Mariners tie and quite upbeat about our prospects that day.

If we continue the way we are AND let Tommy H go I'm prepared to vote with my feet and wallet and not come back next season until the club starts getting it's sh*t together.
I know that doesn't sit well with many on here but seriously, would you keep buying any other product that explodes in your face and only gets worse?

Money is the only thing MC listens to - if that's how he wants to chat it can be that way. I've about had enough.

If Mulvey continues to be a stubborn and plainly stupid f**ktard regarding Tommy what recourse do we, as fans have?

I remember a certain Dutch ex player/ new manager with dreadlocks try something equally stupid at Newcastle (England, not the bogans up the road) with Shearer and he ended up getting the bullet.

If we weren't coming last...
If we have won more than one game....
If Mulvey and his minions had not assembled the most unbalanced side in the history of the HAL
If Mulvey had screamed for a starting 11 keeper rather than listen to Nash or Pikey explain that Goalkeepers and defences dont win games.....only DM's do................. so make sure you sign 6 or 7 of them.
If Mulvey had worked out that us loosing every single week might be because we are playing a back 3..............................

then maybe i would think he knows more than us.

Pikey, is a low rent pimp and we are his tramp. He is happy for us to kop it in the worst way possible and still keep at arms length so he doesn't feel dirty.

Well Mulvey..............you have been lazy and shithouse.......some improvement in the last 5 or 6 weeks but you should be begging for us to understand that maybe you have a clue and maybe you have a plan (not just i'm cheap and Pikey likes that)...........but we have a talented and fully committed player whose name you cant pronounce that everyone loves and appreciates. In your so far shithouse wisdom and appreciation of talent you have tried to put him on the outer for far less talented players.
Mike, stop making an absolute tit of yourself and treat a talent like Tommy with the respect he deserves.............and if you are going to say...he has made a couple of mistakes..................no wonder, players thrive on feeling wanted and respected..............and although you have treated him poorly his performances have been vastly better than everyone apart from Judas (who you failed to resign) and Pain.

Wake up to yourself Mike. We wanted to love you but stupidity for the sake of being a stubborn wanker is unforgivable.

I have kopped a few blows supporting you but that ends now unless you wake up to yourself.

If Mulvey is still here next year, I do not think it matters who he re-signs.
He has shown an inability;
to identify talent
to Manage a team effectively
to select the best players from those available
to organise the team in order to be able to defend
to identify talent.

A manager lives or dies by results. It is time for the sword.

We have had a beginner (Moss) recommended because he was Arnie's mate. Failure.
We have had a good guy (Walmsley) who did well in the (very) minors but was not up to the big time. Failure.
We had one of the "Golden Generation" (Okon) who was crap with rep kids and was so wedded to Ange ball he could not adjust. Failure.
We have had a coach who had one result (Mulvey) but was quickly moved on and has never spent any length of time in the one place. Failure,

FFS please sign a manager with a proven record who knows football and man management.

And his main objective at the start of these season was to restore the culture. He's done such a fine job at that, that Millar signs before even bothering to speak to the club. Failure.

Hiariej was smiling and seemed in good spirits on the pitch for the 10 mins he was there which I found interesting all things considered

Tommy told me he loves the CCM fans more that any he has dealt with. He loves that we love him. He is just worried that the manager doesn't like him.

WELL WE DONT LIKE THE f**kING MANAGER!!

Has there ever been a situation where the bulk if the fan base are willing to walk out over a player?

I remember when Jacob Burns had the blow up with the Perth coach (ack that he is a tool and Tommy H is a legend) but it was unanimous that "no player is higher than the club bla bla"

I just find it really interesting that we're all backing a player over a coach, myself included.

It's not just about the player though is it? If MM had us sitting in 7th looking to sneak in to the finals people would be upset about Tom but not ready to walk over it. Not signing Tom for next season is more like the final straw because what MM is doing isnt working and we've got no faith in the recruitment, selections or tactics. He's been a disaster when the club needed a former title winning coach to lift it up and rebuild.

Edit: Coach who inherited a brilliant squad from a great coach and it won a title.
Subsequently sacked for being shit when asked to do the job himself.

The Club should be after Rudan. He wants to come back to Australia. He has been successful in the NPL and has done wonders with the Nux. Western United seem to be in the box seat, but I am sure he would prefer to be in NSW rather than Victoria.

The only other available experienced coach with successes behind him would be Stajcic.

But knowing CCM what are the odds we end up with an Aloisi.

I'd be happy about either of those options but Rudan in particular has mentioned investment and building on his success if he remains in Wellington. It's not much of a stretch to imagine if we got him Rudan's contract could have clauses around spending, control of that spending and possibly even a marquee budget. He's in demand so would likely be a take it or leave it scenario if we were chasing him.
