Not tenable, must go. He's sinking us to new lows, deflects badly, and not the answer to our problems. This article just blew my mind - https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/goalpost-delay-unacceptable-says-mulvey

I get it, the post thing was a debacle. But to state that it's unacceptable after the pure shit we've been dished up? To take a stand on THAT as unacceptable? f**k off.

You've failed, we need a change. Thankyou, gtfo.

EDIT - Next job is to see who would be the right replacement. I think he's out of our league now, but having Hutch back in a coaching capacity would be good. Might be a bit early for him, but he's got a lot of fans in the US.

I don't see why you're making an issue out of the goalposts. I mean, it looks like he was asked about the goalposts - so what you do you want him to say?
It was completely unacceptable. I wouldn't be surprised if some fans walked out and are now trying to demand a refund given the product wasn't delivered.

The goalpost issue being unacceptable has nothing to do with the team.

To me, choosing that to be your main issue is just...weird....and taking it all out of context.

I think he's getting at Mulvey Using it as a statement piece to deflect from the real shit show. Haven't seen a presser or post game of interview so don't know if he actually addressed the white elephant

Not the main issue, that would be the very shit season we're having. Can accept he would have been asked.

"That was pretty unacceptable wasn't it, what happened today with the goals and having to stop for 40 minutes," Mulvey said.

"It's bad for the public of Central Coast, all the people that came out on New Year's Eve to watch the game.

"I'd like to thank all the volunteers and the staff here at the stadium that got these two portable goals and made it acceptable that we could play a game, but really it's unacceptable isn't it, in this day and age."

Can't defend that language. The goals were the LEAST unacceptable thing last night. I was on the fence about Mulvey, but it's another case of him deflecting from the problems he isn't addressing. He's the leader of this football department, he needs to move on from that subject quickly and show contrition or responsibility, not ask rhetorical questions.

All that aside, the football has been shit, he's not taking responsibility, and those comments were the last straw for me. Do you think he should stay or go, Gus?

I can't see that happening at all. Just seems like it was a response to a specific question or comment.

So, if he's asked about the goals, what do you expect him to say then? He's not going to turn around and draw a comparison to the team and it doesn't make sense to expect him to.

"Can't defender that language" - what, he was wrong? Everything he said in relation to the goals was completely accurate.

Heck, at this point at least the 6000 people that turned up expected a loss. They didn't expect to sit there for close to an hour with nothing to do over a stupid problem like this, especially on a night when they all have things to do after the game.

Watch the presser. Mulvey wasn't asked about the goals. He was asked about Ross, and changed tack to talk about how unacceptable the goals were. Wasn't asked, he changed the subject.

Q: "And the McCormack situation?"
MM: "He's at Villa right at the moment, and if there's any news, I'll update you on that in the next few days. You know, if you look our situation, you're talking about our situation, you see what happened with the break, we had this break and we sort of got back into the game a little bit...but that was pretty unacceptable what happened today with the goals, wasn't it?"

This is the man who decided that Kennedy and Pearce were A League players.
This is the man that got the best striker in the league and ballsed it up
This is the man who gutted the successful NSWPL2 side for a failed cup game and destroyed their season

I think the first point is ALL on Pikey.

TBH i'm on the fence now.

I and may others fortold that no Keeper and no specialist RB was going to hurt us.

Maybe stupid things have been done and they all bear the hallmarks of Charlesworth.

But the team is playing poorly in so many aspects......and the buck for that stops at Mulvey.

The Tommy H debarcle (if not a Pikey plan) if thats down to Mulvey then i want him out.

The decisions regarding players would be made by the football department. The manager/coaches, the CEO and Harry Redknapp/Mike Phelan.
The buck stops with MC but he is responsible for releasing the money after recommendations have been made.
He is responsible for the senior staff appointments.

It was MMs first act. I can understand BK getting an extra year because of his contact extension being triggered. After that you get a true first choice keeper.

Then you decide if you want a third keeper. I wouldn't - plenty of other places to spend but Gauci on a scholasrship would be ok.

Agreed!

Our track record of last 3 coaching appointments has been evidently poor! Who is accountable for these hires???

I said Mulvey needs to go. But I also feel like nearly everyone needs to go. Something really stinks at the club. Main reasons for Mulvey to go include poor handling of God, keeper situation, Dire performances, impotent attacking third, my assumed pathetic training methods. I'm sure there are many more. Whilst Mulvey needs to go, that clearly won't solve anything. I get the feeling that we would be stone motherless last if we had Gus Hiddink or similar.

A larger break (75min) happened in a Champions League semi at the Bernabeau. Didn't stop Real Madrid winning the game and the semi before going on to win the Champions League. Just another excuse.

This is confusing. Not defending Mulvey at all - there's plenty to go after him about, that much is clear, but this angle of attack is just bizarre tbh.

Firstly what were the circumstances of the Bernabeu delay? Was it an avoidable thing that the venue had done?

As for him using it as an excuse, it seems quite the opposite, he seemed to think the side improved after it.

Ultimately it allowed him to gloss over another disastrous performance, but he's still entitled to point out how unacceptable what happened was.

You think so?
I don't think MC is that hands on.
Surely the task of employing players is much further down the pay scale.

I think he is Ancient. I can hear the conversation....Pikey...." This Youth bloke Pearce, is he any good? Hopefully he wont have to play anyway and we can pay him minimum wage"
Muley....." The Goalkeeper coach said he's good enough"
Pikey...."Excellent News...sign him and see if there are any decent schoolkids available for the 3rd spot.
