Yep people should know these are rumours and pretty much by definition of the word are not always going to be true.
No point shooting the messenger.
I don't think anyone would suggest that people not post rumours but with something as potentially serious as what Oz posted, maybe some further due diligence would be good before putting it out into the public domain?

Regardless of its level of truth (in this case zero) it still has the potential to cause damage which IMO isn't worth it (for anybody involved).

To be fair Oz is pretty spot on 99% of the time and we often get info we don't get anywhere else.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water because of one small error.

And I think you overestimate the forum's importance if you think that that post would cause damage.

It's fine - if you hear something and feel it's from a reputable source post it and say 'I've heard'. We know nothing is a given until it is official.
I quite like the inside info and appreciate hearing it here. OH is usually on the money and pretty reliable so please keep it up

After the week we have just had, would it surprise anyone to learn that the club has now fcuked up the Sheff. Utd loanee’s visas? If true (and my understanding is that it is), will someone be held accountable? I highly doubt it.....

After the shite that has gone down this week, this latest stuff up would just about be the icing on the top of the cake and heads should roll surely?

The club could however, start to make amends by announcing Tommy’s resigning for another two seasons but I won’t be holding my breath.

This is what was actually written. Oz says he thinks it is true but also raises the possibility that it is not. That is the way it should have been written and what we want to hear. If he was 100% sure I doubt he would have said 'if true'.

He believed it was true but gave us an option that we could parse it with the knowledge it may not be true. Given that he is someone that has a very good record of passing true information then some may be more inclined to agree. But we all had the option of reading it for what it was.

The people who frequent this board are among the club's most dedicated fans, IMO - rumours like this can be added to the memory bank of people already upset or angry with the club and whether they're true or not, grow that anger. In this case, unnecessarily. JMO.

It's evident in the fact one or two people have suggested it did actually happen but was fixed up, rather than the fact it didn't and the information wasn't reliable in this instance.

As I said, I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater but this, IMO, never should've made it into the public domain as a rumour.

Regarding information coming out of the club or direct from players.
We have the option of giving all that information to the public. But we don't, because in quite a lot of instances it can be damaging, especially if the information isn't the whole story.
The truth is in the middle ground somewhere, and we at CFR think it is sometimes irresponsible to make everything public, or let the information get to the wrong people.

I hope we at CFR provide good content without letting go of everything that were privallaged to know.

Regarding the visa issues, it's common practice that players are cleared on fitness grounds, sign a contract, then once they have a guaranteed job can apply for a work visa.

Regards
Jimmy.

I was thinking yesterday - what are the chances that Hooley has his manager chasing a gig for him OS next year on the back of his new highlights reel from the weekend?
I almost want him to knock a couple more in so he thinks he's better than us and heads somewhere else.

I'd be worried that will drive the club to overpay to keep him and then he'll revert to usual form.
Im worried 3 goals is enough for that to happen. A couple more might give him the momentum to actually try his hand OS.

I saw the increased international exposure he got with his free kicks on-line, and I read a headline somewhere 'Is Hoole the A-Leagues free kick specialist'. Ride the Hype train Hooley, get yourself a gig in Asia or somewhere while the hype is good.

And maybe ask the coach if you can skip taking the corners - it risks exposure.

One element of his game is that he continues to overplay the ball, take one or three too many touches and this either slows down play, results in a turnover, through getting dispossessed or laying off a pass that teammates weren't expecting after his nine touches.

Mulvey should be all over this - but nothing has changed.

My question is, if Hoole had these skills in him from the off...why hasn’t he used them all the time, the only thing I can think is his ....
A: bone f**kin idle
B: never occured to him

Have you seen his free kicks and corners? He’s just in a good patch at the moment. Don’t put the house on it lasting.

Hoole has always been able to shoot and score the odd screamer.

Unfortunately that is just about all he can do. Therefore only place to play him is up front.

I cannot understand why this has not been tried.

I suggested this here when Okon was coach but the coaching staff foolishly ignored my suggestion.

I wonder if they will listen this time.

Been watching hoole for nearly a decade now. No coach has managed to get this out of him.

He’s definitely always had the technique in his kit bag. It’s always been down to attitude with the bloke.
